i assume you are referring to the last hourly upbar? spread is quite wide to be considered a good ND, no? Plus close would be closer to the middle if it were ND i would think. Looks more like a reversal bar when you consider the previous bar - high volume on reduced spread closing in the middle. As long as that bar is followed by an upbar, the volume - as long as it is not drastically low - is bullish. the volume on the upbar is higher than each hourly down bar in the move besides the climatic volume.

How are pinbars used or considered in VSA? Are they looked at as indecision and ignored or are they used as NS or ND depending on established trend?

if memory serves, pin bars are not considered, for example if you are looking for a down bar for a UT confirmation you skip pin bars.

Dr G. today seems to be the day i pick your brain...prelim demand line has not yet been crossed, and we seemed to have formed a secondary demand zone. So my question to you is whether you adjust your entry zone lower to between the prelim and 2nd demand area?

Tides may be changing as we seem to have bullish volume now.

Sorry for the late charts but it's hard to post from work and when I entered the trade it was 4:30AM so I was too tired...

Took this EURUSD short after I saw (well my MT4 email work me up) another bounce and possible reversal forming when price got back to that 3820 level. This was one of three levels I had email price alerts set for when I went to bed. Took the trade set my SL for both, my TP for lot 1 and set an email alert for when TP was hit so I could evaluate trade 2... When I saw the 15min hull was red and we were nicely under both lines I set TP 2 for the ADR of around 150 down from the days high...

I moved my SL to BE right before the USD news release just in case.

Hope the charts are clear enough... Trigger from 15min, entry on 5min and trailed it using 15min. Nice move up and down on GBPUSD also but I didn't trade it either way.

Hey friends

Here's a 1h chart of EU. I've marked 4h demand and our 1h trigger level (labeled as preliminary demand) which is where we saw the first sign of buyers today.

Is it wisest to wait for a break and test of the preliminary demand level?

What if we see some nice PA down in that demand zone? There is a POC from January 24 in the zone that we didn't quite make it to.

If we see climactic action into the POC/demand I might look for some longs, but then again I may wait for the preliminary demand zone to be tested. What are everyone's thoughts on this?

The 15M to 9:30am closed with potential weakness - got hit with sellers in the last few minutes as opposed to rising above. Entry for me not yet confirmed as we're testing for more. 3M shows NS, and strength is tentative here; I like to see the TL cleared too.

Just comparing the H1 price and volume for 2-Feb and 4-Nov, no recent UpThrust on 2-Feb.
4-Nov/5-Nov has a Buyers Climax and then an UpThrust on the H1.

Fib Retracement from swing 29-Dec low to 18-Jan high, showed a 38% down retracement to 25-Jan low, so this current Upleg may still have one more shot.

Look at 11-Nov Daily price is a small up bar doji is a NoDemand, with very low volume, then 2 days later,...

Did you go for your Short GU after it test the high near 1.6277 ??

I did not get it there as away from computer.

When back at computer before London close, caught the Short GU on momentum from 1.6185 to 1.6135 for a +50pips. Did not hold on this time.

m.prorealtime.com is great, but doesn't show forex volume unless you pay for their service. tried it for their 7 day trial period and the app is really slick, but once the trial is up no more volume

I haven't found any other that show volume, at least not for free.

I use Teamviewer, you download on your computer that you trade from and get the app on your i-phone and you link to main computer on the go from anywhere. This is the best way i believe and free.

Hi guys, just want to ask if you guys agree.

1) When u take profit/loss after a short, u are removing supply (increasing the demand) from the market, thus taking away momentum from a down move/ adding momentum to an up move

2) When u take profit/loss after a long, u are decreasing demand (adding supply) from the market, thus taking away momentum from an up move/ adding momentum to a down move

3) If u close a long/short, someone has to sell/buy and this will also reflect in the tick volume along with any opened positions.

Looking at the dollar's strength yesterday, it seems like the "SM" mostly opened positions and the most profit taking was done by the "herd".

So I see two possible scenarios:

 

  1. the "SM" already knows that the news will be good for the dollar, to mask their profit taking and new positions - big down move with extreme volume, followed by accumulation with med to high volume and then the markup.
  2. or they do not know what the news will be, but they will receive the news before us, good news - option 1, bad news - the market could gap up by 60+ pips because their orders would have been processed first (they will still make a profit and be on the winning side of the market)

Any thoughts or other scenarios would be appreciated.

All signs are there and that is a good example when price is responding immediatly, after that ND (M15) just falling..
