Do the few here want to share results from trades and charts? This is the only way we all will get better a a faster rate.

Hi

I am posting here as I do not have facility to post on the Beastie thread.

At post 156 of the Beastie thread you set out the general consensus for calculating the lot sizes ie...

A/c balance divided by 10,000 divided by number of pairs traded
(e.g. $5000 a/c balance tarding 12 pairs = 5000/10000/12 = 0.04 lots or 40 cents)

How would the formula change for a say a 400:1 margined account? A 50:1 account?

Your help would be greatly appreciated

I'd like to maximize the number of my open trades with a certain currency at 2 or 3. For now, I won't open more AUD, CHF and EUR trades, I hope this rule will help me to keep DD low in the future.

So I read the recovery system and i am nt quite sure what to think about it.

Yes it is there to help us have minimal drawdown, but can we still be profitable without using it? I believe this system has a set stop of 50 pips ( i might be confusing that with bob's new system)....regardless I believe we have a set stop

So wont we be fine jst taking the primary trades only?

just trying to learn the system

.....Genius of the system. sure if you feel that you need a stop loss the go right ahead but then you are not trading the system.

You can take primary trades or any trades you want that shows the nuances of the system and how you can adjust to you. Remember that is what I mostly do.

hmm... still got alot of reading to do then. but no SL....that justs scares me. Will try to understand the recovery system better then.

yesterday I had 4 trades close...GU +67,GJ +47, Chfjpy +30 EG +30 total +174 pips. I have made 8.8% increase on my account since I resumed trading on 1/6/2011.

today no trades closed but they are all older and half are in recovery.

Update for my trading, and something I am playing with. I deleted the "inner" TMA that is at Bob's setting and curve fit the outer TMA to the most extreme price movement that I can see on a 4h chart. I feel that this will accomplish 2 things.

1. it will filter out trades that are not at the extreme and prevent some DD
2. reintroduces the #2 EA to my trade entry

Time will tell for sure, that I love to trade so that may be to few trades for me to deal with....

*****note: I do not recommend this much DD unless you have the cushion I have in my account**************

my broker only allows me to trade full dimes. So if my account is at $5500 I trade 5 micro lots until I get to $6000 I can not trade 5.5 micro lots to any fraction thereof.


Charts of note:
EA this is my worst trade open right now. L1-633 (entry 1/13) L2-260 (entry 1/20). Level 2 is 4 times L1. I will need a L3 soon if we do not see a retracement...This game is testing my strength, but it us very nice to have a positive swap for once!!!

I entered at Trend trade live from Bob's new system and it went the wrong way completely, and the genius of his recovery system I just entered a L2. looks pretty straight forward for now.

I'm using Steve's EA and don't really understand the stuff about TMA and Sixth's so you still think TMA is better than Sixth's for Bulge trades?
Do you know the post that explains how to uses TMA instead of Sixth's?
#1, #2 and #4 don't use Sixth's so are fine.

I don't think 6th or TMA have anything to do with bulge trades. It's the bulge of the bollinger bands I think.

Personally I'm still trading with the 6th lines instead of the TMA and I'm also doing fine although I feel that Radio is getting a bit more out of the system mainly due to better profit taking then me. Usually I'm in the same trades.

I'm also in DD on a lvl2 EURAUS but my account is still happy.

To Negima: The recovery system is not there to give you less drawdown, it actually gives you more drawdown but the plan is to recover the trade that went bad with a next level trade. Cutting losses quickly will reduce drawdown while the recovery system gives you drawdown but if you succesfully recover the trade you will not take a loss or even make a small profit. It's vital for this system to use tiny lots compared to your account size so that you can handle the drawdown. Next to that you still have to make sure you don't overtrade or end up in correlated pairs all at the same time.

Hi

I did mention this is Scoobs formula (do not want to be accused of plagiarism). In theory for 50:10 you need to half the lot size and for 400:1 you can multiply by 4. However, please do bear in mind a higher margin is a double edged sword and you should be weary of trading anything larger than 200:1.

I really dont understand these levels and the the 150-200 or the numbers that are mentioned....is there any posts that go over these concepts...reading the manuel is not clicking

I see some people still have losses that are open despite locking in some profit. I dont really understand that part is some have had over 600 pip losses open. I guess i really dont understand this recovery part

I'm recovering the euraud that was in a huge DD, epic system
It would be nice if in Recovery mode after reaching BE+10 we can put a stop loss on the BE and let the recovery run.

If it runs, we can cash some extra pips (and usually the lot are big so big are the profit), if not we still exit at BE and we are happy anyway.

What do u think?
