Can anyone tell me how to run more than one copy of Metatrader on a computer? I downloaded a second copy from another broker but the desktop icon cannot find how to launch it because of the other Metatrader. Any suggestions?
You could rename descript from destop.
hey dreamliner....... you should be able to start it by clicking on the terminal app icon in the metatrader folder.....

most people probably would rather create a shortcut to it and place on their desktop.....h
to trade and code, keep both simple... no call to impress....h
when you download MT4 it will ask to create a desktop icon & launch metatrader, always tick yes here.

I saved one platform to C: and the other one to C: program files on my computer

you have to make a folder and then installl new mt4in that folder it will work perfectly....i run 4 mt4 at a time.
I want to view MT4 password, is there any software to see account passwords on MT4

Hi,

You just can install metatrader two times.
When you install metatrader it will ask where to install it. You can change the folder name ie Crogram FilesMetaTrader - Alpari UK 1 and the second time you install metatrader you call the folder Crogram FilesMetaTrader - Alpari UK 2

When you copy Mt4 terminals to new computers, you will be asked for login details again, for demo accounts it can be a pain if you can't remember what the password was, other than that create a new account.
There is a password recovery tool for MT4, I can't remember where to download it from. I am sure if you google for it, you will find it.
Follow the Money
Look in the Email tab in MT4 if you have access to it and there should be an Email listed as Registration. This will have the demo emails.

If it is a live account you may have more issues to get it back.

Just install in it a separate folder (with a different name) and add an icon on your desktop pointing to it. Of course if you are trying to access the same account at the same time with both installations, I don't know how that works?

I do know if you have more than one account with a broker (either demo or live), they can be accessed on either installation, so long as you have the login details. So, I would assume if you wanted to access the same account with both installations at the same time, you should be able to do this.

Here's an alternative to running multiple meta's. There is currently a beta running of a new software program called MT4/5 Detached Windows.
