...Anybody can share some experience with trading these? And how about margin requirements?

Margin requirements here:

As for volume and open interest, you can find that too by selecting a daily chart of the contract your interestred in and selecting volume and openinterest as studies. Didn't check the others but it looks like the EUR/USD averages about 5000 contracts a day....

has anyone tried trading the e-micro forex futures yet?
Ignored
I did...Wanted to build a long position in the EUR/USD back June/July 2010 when it was hitting 1.2000 and instead of buying 2 standard contracts, I used a combination of mini and micro contracts to buy the same amount...I paid more in commission of course but I got the flexibility to improve my average price...

Nader

Actually how really does the E-micro works?

Is it an individual contract on it's own? Or it is a fraction oh the standard contract? Which means the price of a E-micro contract actually follows the standard contract?

If it is so, why do we need to worry about volume?

Please enlighten me...

It is an individual contract on it's own with a size of 12,500 Euro per contract....Of course it follows the standard contract size although this statement is not very accurate since the underlying is the same...It's like saying that the Euro is following the other Euro in price movements...

You need to worry about volume because the micro contract is not that liquid and consequently, the spread is a little bit more than standard contracts...Also you have to worry about volume because you need to enter and exit efficiently...Sometimes, you might not be able to enter or exit the market efficiently if you are trading big volumes....

Nader

Thanks for the link. I didn't know that the margin requirements are set by the exchange, because I've seen that different brokers have different requirements.
