but i´m working whit it in demo, and the pending orders, all the time are moving and changing whit the price up and down and price never cath it.

i don´t know why or perhaps i´m doing something wrong, and I can see also in backtest that many orders close when lose two levels.

today and yesterday aren´t good days for tradind, wait for a breakout.

Show me a precise example of wrong behavior of the EA, according to the rules in post #1.
The open orders are trailed to breakeven when a new level is reached.
Each time a new level is reached, 2 new stop orders are sent.
With these rules, it happens that sometimes 2 orders reach the stop loss at the same time.
Yesterday and today´s trading of the EA. Step size is 15 pips.
Still range bound. 16 losses. Maybe it would be better to use 20 step size or bigger and then wait for a movement of around 200 pips otherwise a range eats up the account balance.

in a ranging market you will see several whipsaws, we need a filter to avoid ranging market. we can have a max consequitive stoplosses before stopping trading and waiting for a breakout
i made a killing today on gold using the EA from roundrock. however in basics the EAs are all the same right?

i didnt reply yet, because i first needed to check how the Ea actually works and see it all moving.

here are of my ideas that i think will improve results.

1.open the Ea just before a big news event.

2. open the EA before a market opens. europe or USA market.

3. take pairs that have a long up or downtrend. main reason why i chose gold to test it. but pairs like EURCHF for example should be good too.

4. dont wait to long in taking profit. on gold i took it after 1 hour it went all down. i had the Ea on since 4 hours.

if i got any more ideas to improve i let you guys know. but so far those are my ideas.
ranging market require smaller or larger pip step?

can this adjust the pip step in different trading hour ...
or just prevent to trade on those non-active trading hour!?

I think there's something wrong in the description of the strategy in the first post:
- send 2 pending stop orders (1 buy, 1 sell) whenever the price reaches a new level
- when the price moves in a direction (e.g. long) do not delete the pending orders in the contrary direction

For what it's worth,i just have an observation.
I have tested this two EAs ( Golden3 & Lets Go Where Price Goes v1.0.0 ),mind you not back or forward test,i meant real life demo( daily trades for about 2 months).
From what i saw,it would improve the returns if there is trailing in both of them.
Can anyone include Trailing Stop (TL) in this two EA.
This is just an observation to improve this EAs.
At least for people like me who needs this Trailing.

my idea is to move the SL to last order open price

I am so glad to read your post.
what i have in mind was a kind of normal trailing stop which can be set to any figure desired from (1 to 100 or infinity).
But all input on this trailing issue is welcome by me.
We give it a try and see how it is working and we modify to perfection as we go along.

Hi everybody... I made some observations and I think it will be successful... I already wrote lots of ea with combinations of the idea... but I change the aspects of idea.. How?
First of all I dont open buy and sells at the same time..
and I use 21 ema(5M chart) for the detection of a trend...
After a probable trend starts after break of ema I open at the same direction an buy order(for long).... with a stoploss(according the steps)
if it succeed to reach the upper level lets say 10 pips I break even it and open an other one... And if it succeed again I open another one and trail the others to breakeven... it is enough three opening orders.... And as you see my risk is 10 pips every sequence start.. If I catch a 80 pips movement it means 210 pips for three opened orders... means risk : reward is 1:21.... And the I use some sort of martingle but not doubles every time... According to my risk:reward ratio after 19 order lost to enter a trend of lets say 0.01 lot I then double to 0.02 and wait for the another 19 order to double ....
It is more secure then every martingale system... it means I have to be successful app. one time per 100 order...
I know it is wierd but I can say so far in eas it has a really good potential..
Anyway after a good ea writing I will add it to here...

Thanks for your post.It seems like the idea i was discussing with (wltam) earlier.but maybe a little difference here and there,but the whole idea is the same.
The major point i noted in this idea is that :
When the EA opens a trade once it gets to a certain point (say 10 pips) it breaks even,then continues to Trail and another one opens again and it goes on and on.
It is a very good idea,because from my tests,i concluded that this will make a great EA.

Changed to 50 pip distance about mid-week & had a profit by the end of the week. Draw down wiped out last weeks gain before recovering. Attempting to close + positions > 100.

A balance chart really tells us nothing. The reason is if you have a floating loss and take profits off the account the balance will swell and Equity will be drained.

Equity in the account tells the whole story, because it tells you what is in the account regardless of what the open trades float is. Be carefull about putting your faith in an expanding Balance chart. Equity in the account is really what only matters.

The ONLY time balance equals equity is when all trades have been close out. But you don't provide this information.
Here is forward demo of MSG 7_2_1. with dollar lots activated. I posted a backtest of this version with dime lots a ways back.

One thing that should be noted is that this test was run on IBFX and during the past week they had some feed problems, so this result is likely not typical, but pretty good for a stress test when this type of thing happens for real.

It's also to show you a potential weakness in the OP's original idea because if this is not accounted for it could cause a bit of havoc.

Just came across your post.
Just a quick question,which ea is this MSG 7_2_1 and where can i get it to test.
So i can make my contribution known as i have always done.
I don't really do back testing..i prefer life or forward testing.
