IBFX don't let on, but they are now ecn crims. You have to set CriminalIsECN to true to trade with them. I believe I mention this in post 1.

I just realised that the stop loss line shows the hard stop, not the hidden stop.

One of the things that the legions of the lazy and stupid forget when posting their asinine requests for information that they should be finding out for themselves is this: I have to bloody well read them.
And they piss me off.

With a few notably useful exceptions, the latest posts here have been rubbish and I resent having to read them.

You can now specify both time frame and period for the two ma's, and the period for the Fractals.
Go birdy if I have left anything out, or if there is anything else that could usefully be added to the flexibility stuff.
If you have no intention of tinkering with the strategy, then you do not need the updates.
If you find more favourable settings than the defaults designed by Bob, please post them here. Bob designs systems for his own trading and shares them with us. He is the first to say that they are a starting point and that anyone who achieves successful results with an extra twist will gain his attention.
Have fun.

Ran the latest version last night and the previous version the day before that, so these results are a combination of the two. The P/Ld would be for the latest version for the day and the P/Lw for the week would include the previous version. I am using all defaults and it sems like others are getting better results than I am. Are you using defaults or different settings?

Hi guys. I have been forward testing the EA. For some reason, its not doing as well as Bob's manual strategy. I have done some visual backtests on the EA also.
Steve, you are probably gonna ban me after I say what I am about to say: Is it possible to introduce an option to use a recovery system for when trades go against you? I have noticed that on visual backtest for the EA (took me bloody ages!!) most of the losses were due to stop outs - even if i placed the stop away. However, WHILST being in a losing trade, the market would always retrace...
No reason at all why we shouldn't try this. As I remarked in posting the latest version, Bob develops his system for himself then shares it with the rest of us.
I understand that US fifo trading rules make Recovery unusable by Bob, but the rest of us can use it and it is proving invaluable in a number of trading scenarios.
So, yes, I will add this as an option instead of a stop - this way people can continue to allow it to be a slave to the trading strategy. Leave it with me.

seller9, did you get the dashboard from Bob's thread? I can only see V1.2 in the attachments list.
Hope I didn't post something I shouldn't have.
I like to forward test in the real world and be able to see at a glance what is going on. One thing nice about the DB, even though it only has a place for 12 pairs, you can run more than one DB as long as the pairs are different.
Maybe someday Plover(forgot the spelling) will come back and code us a great one like he did for Bob's 4 hr system, which I am using.

Just to let everybody know, I have looked at adding Recovery into this robot.
It cannot be done. Everything I try causes problems. Solving them throws up different problems in an endless round of problem chasing.

The new system looks for trades where price is moving away from that mean. A trade fails when price moves back to the mean. If you persisted in trying to trade in the same direction for recovery, you would eventually end up trading against the new prevailing trend, and thus against the system itself. If this system actually works, trading against it is probably not that good an idea.

The entry opened when the 5 ma trigger was above the mid TMA line ( arrow on chart )
I believe in Bob's manual system he would not have opened a trade in this situation
If there is already a filter for this in the code maybe it is not working as intended
If there is not, maybe we need one ..... to only allow trades to open when 5 ma is above/below mid TMA line .... or maybe still better with a variable user parameter xx no of pips from outer TMA line ( for testing alternatives ) though not quite sure how the forward shift in the 5 ma would affect any calculations
