Well I don't know about that because I haven't hung around here but for spurts here and there.

I think if a coder spends the time necessary to develop a system you may never see the end product. I don't know too many coders willing to "give away" the cat's meow for free, much less post it on a forum board where someone else will repackage and sell it on ebay or elsewhere.

The other problem with manual traders is they never post results or at least I should say I have never seen any. I guess it's just too much work having to stay up 24/5 and then post a result after that?

So which group is really ruining a particular method or thread?

I think if you lead by example, show your results and explain how you do it whether manual or not people will run to your success. I think most people understand that forex is hard, even if you use a robot. There is always maintenance concerns of the script etc. But to get involved by whining and complaining is not helping you or the thread. If you want to see it succeed then you need to help the thread and stop tearing it down.

To claim there are no profitable scripts because you don't have one is a little bit short in the tooth IMHO and from my own personal experience. It's not cut and dry, because the market changes. It only changes in terms of the size of the ranges... it still only goes up -down and sideways tho.

This is why most EA's fail to work at various times, or the idea wasn't sound to begin with or the programmer failed to count for everything that can potentially go wrong.

So if you're really interested in the health of this thread I advise you to participate in a constructive manner, even if you only decide to manual trade the method. There is nothing wrong with manual trading if you can do it. I for one can-not, which is why I learned how to code.

Find your own personal comfort zone, post your results and tell us how you did it. The thread will then blossom into the purtiest thread you ever did see.

how long MPAS has been profitable ? probably there are several methods that 'look' good for short period, unless you run it over a longer period (2 years) you will never know how good/bad it is. EA can only help you backtest or optimize the params. its as good as the method itself.

may be you are looking for a EA that never fails , there is no such holy grail. certainly not this method. in fact it could completely blowout your account if you overtrade (lotsize)

This is a snapshot of my latest creation that is showing better performance and less risk. It is brand new and I just began forward testing it.

I can tell you it doesn't trade exactly as laid out within this thread, but the principles are more or less the same. My intent in posting this is to challenge you all to think about what you can do to make the system better.

Any EA is rule based. The rules are usually rigid and to make them unrigid or "fluid" like the market is you have to come up with ways to bend them.

A few things I addressed with this version is Timing and making the rules more fluid to try to increase our edge any way possible. I've had to play around with the EA to come to this conclusion.

This is just to show you don't just conform to original idea... not that I want to muck up this thread. Any idea should remain central to the original idea.

With that said... the pic below is only a backtest to show what "might" be possible. As always... "Take a backtest with a grain of salt or sugar - your preference."

Pipseeker That looks good ! Much smoother and less of a drawdown. I´ll post results of the golden3 ea from forward testing within the next 1-2 days.

yeah nobody spends any time discussing ways to improve the idea, things to try etc. Everybody either comes here looking for something for nothing or come here to piss their ego in the wind. No one wants to think for themselves.

I post a simple backtest to encourage people to do something, but people are more interested in self indulgence of their own ego. It nearly makes posting anything in a forum board obsolete.

Sorry to the OP for bringing the thread down, but I am fully disappointed with the mentality being displayed here.

Please people, the posting of a rediculous backtest means nothing. Anyone with the skill and precision of a squirrel can take advantage of the backtester. Why do you think so many failed systems spout back testing nonsense with no real results?

Let's bring the thread back by discussing ways to improve the idea.

In the last backtest post it's a loser just look at Max consecutive wins 9(3,911.81) and consecutive losers 17 (-9186.63)

All this is doing is inflating balance and deflating equity. = FOOLS GOLD. Stop chasing your tail people.

i,m doing some testing whit the different EA´s, the speed train works well in backtest but in forward test doesn´t place the orders very well and sometimes lose a level.

the EA of asasa, it isn´t working properly for me, the pending orders looks like fool moving up and down.

The EA does what it is described in post #1.
When a level is reached, it places two pending "stop" orders at the 2 nearest levels, one above and one below the level just reached. Did I understand wrong?

the backtest, aren´t reliable whit this EA´s.

if you choose to close the trade whit % of the account, everytime you get a winner, the next time with the same lot size, you have to win more .

in a account whit 1000usd if you use always the same lot size example 0,1lots the first time you need 10 pips to won 1%, but the next time you need to won 10,1pips and next 10,3....etc finally, the EA always crash.

backtest don´t work for this except is there were one with money management.

but, I repeat again, this is not an EA for set and forget. you should decide when to use it and when to not.

use it, in a point of support or resistance, when you are waiting for a big movement or when you look a breakout.
