The 5x5 is an ea, so I do not understand your question.

what censura mean is, if the 5x5 MA is too far away from the TMA bands no trade is taken. the best trades are if 5x5 MA is also outside of TMA band

It took me a while to work out what you mean by the 5x5 - being dense again.

This bot takes its trade trigger decision from the code in the ea's from Bob's thread. There is no reference to the position of the 5x5 to TMA in this code.

If the position of the 5x5 relative to the TMA is now a central part of the strategy then I shall code it. If not, I shall wait until it is.

Just to let you know and to keep you all happy
I have been running Steves Trend EA but changed it to M15
ReadIndicatorValues() routine to suit M15, starting this week
See attached Stmt
It is very very promising
I will continue running this on M15 and let you know if the future proves good or if we get bad streaks
I only started on the 5th Wednesday , I started on 0.01 lots but have changed it to 0.1 lots (which we can afford to do on this system due to little drawdown )
People will say that its been designed for 1H and to leave to like that
Here is my argument

It was a reason for bob not taking certain trades in some eg's, whether fundemantal or not you may have to ask bob - there may not be enough evidence as yet but agin bob is best person to ask i mentioned it as he didnt take trades because the 5x5 was too far from tma line - if i am correct i think in buy senario the 5x5 needs to below tma centre line and if sell above but check with bob . I will post this on bobs thread also and see his response - Sorry to bring it up i am not hear to waste youre time or deviate your efforts beyond implementation of the strategy as i understand it - thanks

Hi Steve I thought I would jump in finally. Coding talk kind drives me bonkers but interesting read. When I start live trading I will start at the beginning of the Euro session with this system. I think that will help cut down on peeker trades but also there seldom are big moves in the JPY session so with this system it may not be worth trading. Anyway that is what I am planning on doing.

I considered making the trade trigger tf chart-specific so users could experiment. I decided against it because I want to develop an ea that slavishly follows the strategy.

I figured that anyone with the nous to alter the code has the nous to experiment intelligently. Great to be proven correct.

Sounds like a plan to me. My demo is set up to trade the London session.

Hey Steve,

I know this is early days in the life of a new bot, but I just cant help feeling that between this strategy + "the beast" (btw the beast is just awesome piece of work for all involved). That were onto something special here.

I'm pretty excited for the future!!!

whacked in some extra ram into an old PC to have a dedicated demo server running 24/7, cos I gotta feeling this year its going to get hammered!

In your backtest I think you mentioned not taking trades if 5x5 ma was too far from tma line
My understanding is this is inline with bobs thoughts - a simple filter could be 5x5 must be below tma centre line for buys and above for sells - what condition did you apply if any thanks for your wok

hi steve, happy new year!
do u think would be possible/usefull to add a feature to use phover's (mart) dashboard to select the right chart?
i've already modified the code of the nh4 manager to read the right condition (i edited primary and secondary trade lights to identify the right setups) and changed the #1 ea with the 5x5 bot, but of course i can't add the rest of the features u added such as visual sl and tp and so on...
so i was wondering how to add the correct lines to your bot to send ticks to the panel in order at least to use it to switch between the 28 pairs the system is supposed to trade!
if this make you mad because it's something different from your ea.....i apologize in advance....have a nice week!

Steve, when going thru the user inputs, 'DoNotOverload5DigitCriminals' always makes me pause. I wonder (often aloud) "Hmmm........WTF is that?" Naturally, I then zip right past it, while making a mental note to be sure to find out, ASAP. And then completely forget about it 10 seconds later.
(They're not lying when they say alcohol kills brain cells.)

Sooooo.......what is its purpose?

I have no idea how to achieve this. Not even the beginnings of the tiniest hint of a clue. phover is a stunningly clever programmer whose ability makes me look like the amateur I actually am.

Looks like something to do with refreshing the counter NoOfTicks that governs the update/refresh of stop loss / order decisions. Must have been concerned about sending commands to the ECN to quickly and overloading it.

Looks like, if true count to ten otherwise... it's ten !! lol

I think there is a function
while(IsTradeContextBusy()) Sleep(10);
that may be used instead of a counter.
