I think I have fixed this - I noticed the same on my demo when I returned home tonight. If not, it is only a simple logic thingy that will not be hard to track down.

I think its the fact that you set TradingStatus to notrade and in start()
you are only checking for a trade setup if TradingStatus == none... so I set the tradingstatus to none instead of notrade if 0 trades are present and it seems to work as intended.

I feel myself heading hotfoot towards one of my logic fuzzes here. Does the fix in post 1 actually fix this problem?

It would indeed be great to have the bot drawing the lines instead of relying on the indicators.

I have learned to do this with fib levels and trend lines, but have not a clue how to do this with moving averages etc. I am coming closer to understanding how indis work, but am still some way away from grasping the basics.

Anybody able to make the bot draw the different ma/tma lines is most welcome to post a version here that we can adopt as the post 1 version. Also, I can learn from how this is done.

My coding machine demo has just taken an audusd buy with a stop loss that appears to be correctly placed.

My demo took the same trade on IBfx. I have min. SL set to 30 pips with an add of 3 pips. It placed it correctly. If I want to move the SL below the recent swing low, I adjust it from there. Did yours place the SL below the recent low?

Hi All,
Someone needs to explain to this old manual trader why you would want the TP to move with the TMA line.......The trade will stay stationary no matter what and you could wind up with a TP way out of place......IMHO

I may be wrong but it was my understanding Bobs strategy is to close the trade when price reached the opposite TMA line ( unless closed before by other trade management rules, BE , jumping stop etc )? .... or his Close ea of course

If that is correct why would you not move the TP line as the TMA moves ?

If not in extreme cases the TMA could adjust to such an extent leaving the original set TP well away from the intended target

Good explaination!
my concern was PA triggering or hitting the TMA line on the wrong side of the trade.....In Bob's semi-manual system that could be dealt with, but in a robot I could see that being a problem.......Steve has his work cut out for him.........Thanks for the reply and have a good evening.....

In your example .... assuming you have the bot set to default, which would place SL below previous swing low .... you would have already been closed out for a small loss and now in a new trade at the lower entry level

I intended adding this to the bot - I just forgot.

I know how he feels. I learned to protect myself a long time ago. It goes against my natural instinct to place restrictions on posters, but it is the only way to ensure that the idiots cannot drive me nuts. Bob just has to do the same.

Ok, so I have not restricted postings here, but only a real idiot would fail to take note of my threats in post 1.

Thank you for your work here and the opportunity to post in this thread.

I have not used EA's before, as I have not used a method that did not (in my view) require some discretion. However bob appears to have had EA use in mind from the beginning. Two questions if I may:

1/. Where to read up on EA's in general and ask question not related to this particular EA?

2/. I see discretion needed here when the blue centre channel line has moved well above the 240 ma (especially well above) and then is obviously heading south, as this would not be a good time to trade long. How does your EA work in these circumstances?

Bug? :
1) I run the EA on demo on 20 different pairs.
When opening the next trade (in this case 2nd trade)
the TP of the 2nd trade is set following the TP of the Previous (in this case 1st Trade).

2) the SL it seems to far away from the most recent high/low. Please see the picture.

Morning all

I have this EA set up on my interbank fx demo account on four pairs including usdjpy.

However I am getting the error

USDJPY OP_SELL order send failed with error (130): invalid stops

I have everything set at default and haven't changed anything yet.

Any ideas
