The gaps are there because our retail brokers close for the weekend so they dont show any action over that period.

even if it might play out, it is way too early and the outcome is limited since you will face some sort of upmove. the second attempts which form a lower high, turn and form a nd are way more profitable than those early shots.

i can hear malcolm swear when he wakes up and this thing retraced 50 pips without hitting his tp

Thanks for the advice Dr G.

You know its funny you should mention that, i make these type of trades quite often. Often if they're correlating with other factors (ie S/R, Fibs, TL's etc) - i make a killing.

However, other times they tend to really frustrate as I jump in early to see myself stopped before the market eventually turns my way.

So your advice is wait for it to regroup at the price level, allowing it to making a lower high then shorting on an ND...

Do you apply the same method to Strength? as in Long on a test bar after its made a higher low within the sensitive price area?

All in all, seems much more sensible and a solid approach however there are a lot of opportunities that are forgone correct?

you filter out bad trades. honestly, how many trades rip immediately? you always will face some sort of shakeout like the bar marked with the arrow. this is not grabbing the cashcows or trading 20,30,40 lots. we have not yet seen any form of distribution. see screenshot, i would want market to go a little down now with reasonable volume and then form a nd on a slight rally. way more secure and you wont miss good moves.

the first downmove can just be the AR- automatic retracement which could mean nothing.

that there is supply does not mean that market has to turn. you should always pay attention to the underlying move and imho eur is not done yet, only stalled due to early profittaking. sm is not yet o nthe sell side, which does not mean that this could not change.

same counts vice versa for longs and is one of the principles i use.

they main problem to overcome is the contrarian thinking, we always want to enter the market in the other direction instead of joining an established move.
high vol does not neccesarily mean market has to drop. you can see a massive pin at resistance but market just moves through it on the next bar, it depends on the background. so currently we have a solid base for a bullish move behind us whichtook time and effort to build but have not yet seen a period of distribution.
