DislikedHi Brenzaj, Thanks for sharing your exceptional insights into trend trading. You mentioned you use the 5/12 ema cross. Is there a reason for these numbers; such as they work better than others? It just seems to me a 6/12 cross or a 5/10 would be more logical.
Thanks also to Micardo for this informative thread.
I have taken Micardo's advice and tightened by stop loss from 250 to 200. However, this is just an emergency stop in case the price runs against my position when I am not watching. My real stop loss is mental; and usually a trend break of...Ignored
DislikedIt seems as though everybody is extremely interested in the moving average cross over which is fine if you are experienced and you know how to use it properly. However it isn't fine if you are new and you are planning on just trading the cross over without paying attention to the price action.
Brenzaj42 obviously knows what he is doing and is trading profitably but I am sure from reading his posts he doesn't rely solely on the cross over. He looks at a number of different factors before he enters.
I know that relying on a cross over is great...Ignored
DislikedI have a problem with setting a stop loss over a high or under a low. Although it seems a logical position for a stop, it seems to me I always get stopped out, and then the price heads back the way I had traded. Maybe I am just paranoid; but my theory is the brokers use a robot I call Pacman. Pacman's job is to make money for its master, the broker. So Pacman looks at all of the stop losses, and all of the take profits. Pacman says to himself, if I go up stop-gunning those stop losses, that will wipe out the take profits down below; so that I can...Ignored
DislikedHi Everyone,
I know it is bank holiday today so no one is trading and neither was I. However I I had a set up on the EURGBP identified on my chart which I was looking to take tomorrow if the signal was there.
Unfortunately I missed it and we got an entry today. I thought I would show you it in any case as even though the entry wasn't perfect, the bounce area was exactly the kind of thing we look for.
The 4 hour chart is my directional chart where I derive my bias from and the 1 hour is my entry chart, where I look for the signal

DislikedHello, all. As in the title, this is my first post on FF. It's harder to know when to enter here than on a NonFarmP. day, but here it is.
I want to make a comment on something I read often: that traders' MM's are going hunting for their stops. In fact, if they got into the habit of doing that, they would risk being arb'ed on the other end.
Here's what I mean. Here's a screen shot I just took: that's Interactive's EUR.USD book (they provide an ECN they call IdealPro for forex) on the left, and that's an Oanda Practice platform on the right....Ignored
