Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all have a great and prosperous 2011. fti, it is good to see you here again, and I hope you and your family are finding some peace in this crazy world. As for smoking, I had asthma as a child so I never started (is this an example of the silver lining in an otherwise dark cloud?). Anyway, I am in the process of changing brokers (thought it best to do this over the slow time between Christmas and New Years) and will slowly get back to trading this week. I really need get good food these days, the stress is killing me.
and i am adding habit control on top.
KIll all birds with 1 pebble?

hearing saxo captured citi and DB is trying make presence felt.
so small buckets like GFT, Ig and the likes is gonna have it uphill.
Still wondering why all this retail forex broking is not integrated to the main banks treasury ops? nor get support from the banks multi faceted customer services program? Any thoughts?

I suppose they are trying to keep profit centers separate from main bank ops. but not too sure. Perhaps so they can screw us (forex traders) and not sully their good name among other customers -- LOL!

I used fxcm for over 5 years and am moving to fxdd. fxcm just completed their ipo in 4Q/2010, and they are ok, but moving to fxdd opened some fringe benefits. I will give them 3 months and then make a decision about the future. What a way to start the new year, but here goes!

I dunno but I'm watching my gears very carefully.


maybe just me, but seems 1 kingdom will be legged out early..
Iron lady is getting old you know, U/Y has come a long way, and e/u looks steady.
Staying nimble.

wow, since smoking is one topic for the day around here Ill ad my 2 cents.
Although, (a none smoker I quit smoking after 5 years cause it was bad for my health and finally hard drugs after 18 years) if I went through what fti has gone through of late Id not only be smokin but Id probably be eating them to.

Hi all,

My 1st post in FF, has been a passive reader and saw this thread early Nov 2010.

FTI, thanks for your AOW and your method to get out of losses.

Still practising though but has been working fine on me.

Juz finished reading abt 200+ pages and read recent post for awhile. realised that Zoran still recommend FTI to quit smoking after 2 yrs plus (page 200+, he recommended a book and suggest FTI to quit)

One last point on the smoking thing :

Effort is a sign of incompatible desires. It is interesting how we arbitrarily assign the lable 'will power' to any desire that we judge to be 'sensible' or in accordance with societies dictates. When the desire to smoke and the desire not to smoke oppose one another, the strongest of these desires will likely win out. You could just as easily argue that if I have a desire to smoke a cigarette and fail to do so then I am 'weak-willed'. My point is that strength and weakness are irrelevant in this context.

The best strategy, it seems to me, is to be open to full understanding of all issues and consequences involved so that our brains will make the most logical and objective decision in the moment, so that circumstances flow with our best future interests. Understanding is everything, and that just means seeing the bigger picture.

Problem with smoking is that you have to enjoy it.

Nobody enjoys 20+ sticks a day. It is mechanic and rigid. A bad habit.

But I don't see any problem with occasional smoking, 2-3 sticks per week when you feel like it on the beach at sunset.. etc

Pace yourself.

Zoran, he is a good man trying to do good things. Persistant and tends to be aggressive. Nevertheless he is man trying do good things.
Theres lots of good peeps here. And I am glad to call them all friends.

There much cultural differences though. In fact the diversity is a bond.
if you hit thoughts wall, many peeps will step up to help.

But as we are all friends here in TAF it should not cause any long lasting mental states.

What's about trading friends?
Anyone out there having any trades?
Have not deployed any scout this year, but have to do so soon, to reach my daily goal in that trading challenge. Fixing is 14:00 CET everyday ...

A lot of bank holidays today - so I assume there is still not much of a market taoday ...

Will will see ...

This challenge is ranked by a "risk-adjusted peformance", means they have a quotient of

Overall Peformance / Daily Standard Deviation

That means you have to chose a reasonable daily traget in % and have to reach it day in day out. You should not use a target too large, because in 3 months you may be not able to achieve it, when the compounding effect increases the numbers largely. But you should not chose it to small, because of your competitors ....

Can not tell you my daily goal here in a public forum, because the peops know already that some of the top 50 have their home here in TAF thread :-)
