It should be safe to short now, my stop was above that last swing high that got taken out yesterday.
Ignored
Why is it safe to short now, and not previously?

Its now at the 50% of the last downmove from the month pin, and eurusd has hit the top of a range.

So imo its safer to short, but the last pin still was an A pin bar right? Another now would be A+?

I get a bearish butterfly reversal pattern topping @ 0.8669-0.8690 area so looking for shorts in this region. That is the 127 fib extension of the move, beyond that 161.8 extension @ 0.8766 so maybe stops circa 0.8810 will cover this move.

I had been looking to add to this position for a while after getting out @ 0.8460-90 range and this looks like the most logic spot. There are some swing lows around the 0.87-0.8725 area too that may provide a roof for this freak show.

Happy New Year everyone, thanks again Chris!

It's 2:26 AM.

I got off of work 1 hour ago.

PST is a shitty time zone.

I'm the last to wish everyone a happy new year and many green pips.

Needless to say, there's no guarantee, but here's my take:

A way to avoid parasites from sushi is to drink mass quantities of Japanese beer. Nothing can live from that.

Now, as soon as I find my right eyeball I will open my charts.

Hello again to the silent service method thread. I have not posted in this thread since last may but have been still lurking over this thread since. I hope to become a little more active in this thread as things have finally slowed down for me. This thread has been a big part of my trading and defining my method of trading. I would like to give a big thanks to everyone that participates in this thread.

Happy New Year to all!

Hi everyone, well, here goes...my first post. Thanks to Clockwork for starting this great thread. I've been 'silently' (sorry for the pun) following this thread for a while now.

Since I became intent on learning how to trade two years ago, I've stumbled through all the typical hurdles that everyone seems to inevitably face. I had some beginners blind luck with trading stocks but ended up with a loss at the end of the first year; that's when I decided to read and learn everything I could about trading. During that time, I discovered forex as well as realizing that technical analysis, candles etc. were a strong point of interest for me. I traded demo & live for quite a few months but couldn't get past the break even stage. Back to demo and more reading at this point and that's when I ran across this thread.

I had tried boatloads of different strategies, systems, indicators... with little success. Pretty sure I learned the meaning of paralysis by analysis.
Trading the shorter time frames was also confusing because of the noise; I could never get any real sense of trend direction. By taking the silent service method to heart, simplifying and focusing on S/R on weekly charts I'm amazed at the difference it has made...as far as identifying trade setups, being patient and entering at the right time. I'm definitely still learning but this thread has renewed my optimism.

Thanks Clockwork and to all who contribute here. Hopefully, I'll come up with a half intelligent chart or comment (that people won't laugh at) to add here in the near future...

Happy New Year! ...Tanya

Tanya,

Thank you for the post. And stick to your guns. Patience is the key to becoming profitable, not only in set ups, but also in when you choose to trade heavier amounts, etc.

And I am sure I speak for everyone when I say we look forward to your charts!

Chris

update on the open for my GBP/CHF short. Sorry about the chart, it's from a different computer, and therefore....not the same account as the live trade I have going on earlier in this thread. I approximated the lines form the other chart. If you need to - reference the entry, etc. from my Dec. 30th entry.
