Thank you very much 45Fxguy (www.forexfactory.com/45fxguy) !

For the explanations and for your paticence.
I'll try find these "swingman's trix indis" and the "MTF Trix thread, & various Renko".
Im new on forex, and im doing a hard job to learn, since i dont have the perfect english to learn everthing here on this great forum.
If you have any help to me, ii would be very nice.
Regards

Well I guess this thread is about as good as any place to start, but you probably won't get much feed back to your questions though, since it is in the recycle bin.
Just don't think you'll be ready to start trading live in just a couple of months of starting though, unless your first live account is a micro one.
It will probably take a while to learn what your trading style is, & to find a trading method that fits it and your risk appetite, so try to be patient with yourself...

PS:
Here's something no one has posted here in a while.
I didn't take the trade it is still Sunday night here, but looks like it would have been good for almost 20 pips, & was in agreement with both week/day candle colors too. 2nd screen shot is same template on 10 pip Renko range bars...

Most of the indis in the screen shot are on page/post #1, of the C4 thread but I'll post the others later at the end that aren't as easy to find.
(which is where you should start reading any thread page 1/post#1)
A thread usually goes down hill from there....
You can also see all files posted in each thread by clicking on the paper clip and then hiding all images.
I know it is very easy to get lost in information overload as you first get started learning to trade from these loosely strung together threads on FF.
So will try not to give you too much information at once, but you have to be careful not to do the same to yourself too, and jump from one setup to another too quickly.
Try to stick to original rules or make up your own and stick to them for at least 1st 100 trades, and then you can go back to see how many winners versus losers you had to get a good idea of it's win loss ratio, then try to make intelligent decisions on tweaking the rules if needed.
The #1 problem most newbie trades make is jumping from one thing to the other looking for the holy grail setups or indis, when they would be much better served if they would just spent their time in the practice of just trading instead, without too many indicators to hide the real price action.

...the picture that harar posted on page 285 in post #4267 shows a 100% hit rate. Adhering to the "less is more" philosophy, every arrow in his post is a winner. Every single one. (Not sure if harar even realized it.)

In that post, the only thing harar says is, "I was playing with the setting of an indicator and i came up with this combination. Looks promising especially that these arrows do not repaint because they are drawn after the candle(bar) close." Harar seems to be correct, as the last active brick that is forming is right next to a brick that already has a chevron on it.

At first, I thought it had to be some kind of right-shifted semafor indy but I really can't see the point in programming something like that.

I've tried to recreate harar's apparent success by downloading the only version of "smC4Scalper Signals_v1" that I could find in this thread but it's giving the solid up and down arrows as signals, not the chevron-looking thingys SM uses in his "smRenko Signals_v2.1", so I don't think I even have the right version to work with. Just a guess but maybe SM wrote over the earlier version that harar may have been using with a later one but used the same name and version number for the newer indy.

Now, I've played with a great number of combinations in the only available version of the indy to try to duplicate harar's results but can't seem to hit on the right combo. Of course, the settings that I left alone were the ones pictured in the upper left-hand corner of his shot (3, E,E,E, C; 8), as those seemed to be part of the successful settings pictured (though I don't see how a Trix setting of 3 would be able to paint the first brick after price reverses direction, as many of them seem to do).

I noticed two other posters had asked for clarification after harar's post but there was no response, at least, none that I could find.

Sigh. Holy Grail right in front of my eyes but I just can't drink from it!

The only other explanation I could think of was that harar took the time to photoshop those chevrons in but they all look pretty spot on. I really don't think that's the answer.

Anyways, just thought I'd point that out and if anyone's got any insight, I'd love hear your thoughts.

Thanks and good luck/good trading.

.....Seanmcgu

Hmmm...might take me a while. I'm still too junior a member to be able to PM anyone and I don't want to break into the other thread with questions that don't relate to their subject.

Is anyone aware of an EA that allows one to stipulate the renko box size, designated either bullish or bearish renko bar and then when activated execute a trade at the time of bar completion so that one is not incurring slippage.

Kind Regards,

All, As from Monday I will be focussed on really trading my system for all it's worth, so I will not be taking an active part in the thread. Those that I want to hear from have my private email and I have theirs. I will reserve the right to login occasionally to perhaps post the occasional "stolen" indy or a "photoshopped" set of results, mainly to encourage the genuine seekers, but also to wind up the morons. A little harmless fun I hope you won't begrudge me . 369 posts - a good number to end on... An unusually smooth...

I came across this C4 Scalping and what I got out of it is that is a effective method and one Member of the community: TudorGirl have found the perfect settings for her day trading.

I am not going to evoke her for the magic recipe as I would understand a successful trader that as found his "formula" he/she may no what to share indiscriminately her magic.

I wonder though, if she is still around, if she could share with us the indicators that she use/used so to clean out all the continuing requests.
Best,
ste

I thought files with the extension of .ex4 needed to be decompiled to .mq4 to work.
