I have been trying to find someone to add a alert for my indicator but no replys yet...and yes i know it repaints...thats not a problem if you use MM and trade with the trend... it would be nice if i could also pick the .wav file since i made some custom ones for each pair to tell me its that pair instead of the same sound for all pairs

well i have been on chill and no one wants to help me....and i am missing alot of trades due to not having an alert on the indicator so i thought it might get someone to please help me

Damn, first indicator of that kind that is this accurate.

It does repaint....which isnt a problem if you look at a higher TF for the main trend...its pretty good though

Yeap, still 15M is also ok.

no luck yet...i have posted in alot of forums but i guess no one wants to help...even offered money for the alert

Only signal, or alarm needed too?

when theres an up arrow, down arrow and a dot...those are the only 3 signals...i have asked alot of other people but they said they could not find the code which draws the signals....i would like a popup box that says what pair it is and the TF..and it would be nice to have a sound alert with an ext variable that i can pick the wave file since i have some custom ones i have made..."Possible Short on Euro USD" and such i can add the voice files if anyone wants them or just give the link where i make them

It is a type of zigzag indicator dont know much since i can not understand the writing in the code

It's know the alarm only, with it's datas in the box.
If you like the own sound for all things, use the playsound. ( under each alert row, you need the use Playsound("soundname");

Good trade with it!

I have tried to add my custom wave files to the indicators code but when it sounds it still just plays "alert2" even when i put "EurUsdBuy" which is the wave file....any ideals?

If you still need some help to tweak your indi, just post your last version and ask for the modifs you need. I will help. This is my "thank you" to you for the help your "freebee strategy" has been for me. As an IT pro and mq4 coder, I can do it.

The indicator is posted on the first page...it has the sound already and i added the email when i got it back but i still cant make it play the .wav i want it to...it always just plays the MT4 ones even if i change the .wav file in the code

I have no idea what the indy (attached to post #12) does, but this is what I suggest that you do:

1. Remove the PlaySound() and Sleep() commands from the code, and recompile it. [Note: The PlaySound() is not working because the code reads PlaySound("alert2"); instead of PlaySound("alert2.wav"); and/or because such a file doesn't exist in your ..../(MT4)/sounds folder.]

2. Copy the wave file that you want played into your ..../(MT4)/sounds folder. The filename MUST have a .wav extension.

3. In MT4, press Ctrl-O and choose the Events tab. Scroll down to the Alerts line (it's the third one up from from the bottom). If the little bell symbol has a red X on it, double click on the symbol to remove the X (this enables the alert sound). Then double click in the right hand column, select the dropdown, and select "Choose other...." (at the top of the list). From the window that pops up, double click on the wave file that you copied in step 2. Check that this pastes it back as the Alert sound. Click OK.

Now whenever you get an alert, the wave file you copied should sound instead of MT4's usual alert chime.

I get all that man...im not a total noob to coding so i can do the easy stuff...i did all that but i wanted custom wave files for different pairs and different things that happen...that way i can just hear what happened instead of having to check if it was just a trend change, a enter signal or a possible exit instead of just having one sound for all things and pairs...i have already tried to changed the wave file in the code to one i have saved in my sounds folder but it would still only make the alert.wav go off not the custome wave file i wanted...what i wanted is a 3 extern int one for each condition....that i can pick the sound with out having to go into to the code and change it. That way i can make different tpl for different pairs. I attached some of the wave files i have made so you can see they are the right .wav files.....they are not the best sounding but they do there job lol and i think the auzzie chic sounds HOT!

extern int Up Arrow = BuyEurUsd.wav
extern int Down Arrow = SellEurUsd.wav
extern int Exit = PossibleExitEurUsd.wav

I dont know how to explain it better then that....sorry guys but i dont code and almost everything i know i had to learn from playing around and looking at other codes then the good ole copy and paste....lol. If i could decompile ex4 files i could find the code in my candle timer indicator and just copy and past that code but i dont have a decompiler....

Sorry, I had no way of knowing how computer literate you were.

The following should work:

1. Press Ctrl-O in MT4, go to the Events tab, double click to set the red X ON so that MT4's alerts sound is disabled.

2. Copy all of your relevant .wav files into ...../(MT4)/sounds

3. Change the code to include something like:
PlaySound("GbpUsdSell.wav");
depending on the pair and the signal (buy/sell).

If you also want MT4's standard Alert window to pop up, include
Alert("whatever message");
also.

I just tested that now, and it seems that as long as the Alert sound is muted (disabled), and the PlaySound() command can find a valid .wav file in the ...../(MT4)/sounds folder, the correct sound gets played. Here's the code I used:

if (Symbol() == "GBPUSD") { PlaySound("GbpUsdSell.wav"); Alert("Sell the cable"); } else
if (Symbol() == "EURUSD") { PlaySound("EurUsdSell.wav"); Alert("Sell the euro"); }
