Good to see your post. I have thought often of you when I am pulling a fib on a master candle.....

I would immagine you are starting to gear up for the tax season..Fun times to be had for all.

Things are going great.. getting very settled in with a trading style.

As for my trading plan. It is copmplete but I have made it a policy of mine to go over the whole thing at the end of the year and update or tweek it as necessary. So I am currently in this processs now.

It is to bad that so many traders think their way is the only way to trade. It is like saying there is only one car you can drive. My dad who was the best baseball coach I ever had would show us the "standard Mickey Mantle" way to swing a bat. Then let each player adapt to his style. We had a grand champion team 4 years straight. Same goes for trading as many styles as there are traders and if you try to listen to them all you just hand over your account to someone else.

Happy holidays to you as well. I hope to get back tonight early enough to catch the London open. That is if I can stay awake after all the food I am about to eat.

LOL. Yeah, after crawling around in the dirt I realized the there was one 30" section of drain pipe coming off of my kitchen that actually runs uphill....I have to replace it when things thaw. I am happy to say that it is an original aspect of the house, not my work.

If you ever decide to, PM me, I'll give you some pointers, a lot of off-island contractors come here and underbid the locals thinking they'll make a mint, then they're faced with all the BS and delays that are normal when you're isolated (higher local material costs for unplanned issues, and delays due to ferries and whatnot). They often end up over-budget and schedule and have to either charge for the difference (putting them on par with the locals who expect and plan for the BS) or just eat it.

Come on out, I'd love to buy you a beer at one of our 2 bars.

Last night was our first night with power. I layed out my chart for the EU on where to grab my entry and was to tired to keep my head up. To much stuff this week. So this morning I look to see how my plan played out....The red circle was a little supply area I thought London was going to push price to before continuing south. Good for 75 pips...BUT I was down for the count..

Fantastic on catching London.. I will see you next week with London.

Yes I am gearing up for the tax season as well as starting a new company too. A friend of had a business idea and wanted some partners and it sounded good so here we go. As for your plan, yes you are wise to review and update it. All large corporations have business plans and strageties they follow. And they constantly review and change them to deal with the changes in the economy and market. If they do it and make billions per year, it should follow that we do it as well. I don't know if I can eat anymore since I am still full from yesterday. I think I gained 10 pounds.

Great to see you coming along with your plan and trading. Keep with it.

Well I will be adding a few things to my repertorie...

I will start setting pending orders at strong S/D levels with various pairs. I am not sure how many pairs I will add to the list. I am also starting the process to set up another broker for the pending orders as well. This way if I have a long term position in one direction I can take a short term in the other direction on the same pair. Also it will keep the funds separate making it easier to keep track of things.

I am looking forward to the week ahead.

I am starting to go through my charts this evening to plan my trades. Also will be working more on my trading plan I want to have it updated by Jan. 1. It is about 50 pages long so it is quite a little project. I have also started doing a short term plan 2-4 months out showing money management and bite size goals. This has proved to be very worthwhile for me as it reminds me of each step of the process. Now everything is evaluated and adapted more often to the conditions we are in with the markets or my own work schedule. Nothing is random in what I do.

Remember my focus is the psychology in trading.

So anyway just some of the thinking I have been doing.

Remember my focus is the psychology in trading.

I don't know if you curently do this or not, like I said I have not read your full plan, but something that may help you out. The book "trading in the zone" really talks about all the psychology that goes into trading. Humans and their emotions. The best thing to do is to completely take the emotion out of trading.

I like what you said about putting the pending orders in. That is good and it makes a lot of sense. In addition, something I do, is I determine where the target is, and how much risk(loss) I am willing to take. If the target is not at least a 2-1 ratio... I find a new trade. If it is, set the trade, set the sl and set the tp. Now you have zero emotion in the trade. the price will take you out. You can move the stops and tp's based on what the market does.

I like your style Rufus. You are turning into one of the great traders on here.

Thank you for the kind words. Compliments like that go a long way for the expectations of ones self.

I believe that every position that a trader is a part of will either build up or tear him down mentally/psychologicaly. Not as to whether you win or fail with the position but more importantly if your trading rules were followed. I want a trading system that works 100% of the time, it goes into profit and hits my targets, or it retraces and hits my stop. Works every time. NO RANDOMNESS.

So with each position that is placed, I become a better trader.

Trading in the Zone is one of my favorite books I will be going through it again soon. The one I am rereading now is Trading For A Living by Alexander Elder. The first 1/3rd of the book especiallly, is about trading psychology and the psychology of crowds. A great section of the book.

One new section of my trading plan I am working on is "Pending Trades" risk reward ratios. Position on the charts etc. so any ideas are welcome.

I have to go to work now. I am making up for lost time from the weather we had.

Nice looking demand level corresponding with an upward trendline on NZDUSD. I will be watching this one for a pending order.

This pair is also on my radar screen

I certainly can't fault your analysis that you PM'd me on this pair. It is where I have my demand level too, but on the higher timeframe, we have just come from weekly supply, so I expect a bounce from 0.7404 (Weekly lo)-0.7433 which is my demand zone that I have tightened up, but it could be just a small bounce, or we could revisit the weekly supply zone... we never know what price will do.

Entry into your zone is equally important, as this will also give you clear profit targets but we cannot determine that until it actually happens!

DIX is also currently at an important level and if it breaks through the supply zone, which it has tried to do and failed, but still lingering like a bad smell, we could see further $ strength across the board!

At work posting from my phone now.

I see where the EU has announced a large bailout for Ireland. My thinking here is that this will make for a weird opening for the markets and maybe see some massive USD strength. I will be looking for confirmation on orders now instead of pending. I don,t like wild cards.

USD is sitting right on a possible turning point. With all the news in Ireland and N. Korea complaining who knows if it will turn. I will follow the banks and ride their wave.

GU looks like we may have a pending order setup. I will take the upper demand zone with confirmation. If I set a pending order however it will be at the lower demand zone.

Agreed....Satellite internet as well....Better yet an office in town when I get big enough to start trading others accounts.
