Hello everyone I'm very new to trading, I come from poker community so I think we have something in common. I recommended to check out this thread and the craig harris method. Going to post some questions later after i have read this thread.

Hi John, welcome to the thread.

My suggestion would be to have 2 different templates, one just for CH (without HA candles and without the TDI and the additional MAs) and another template for Big E's Synergy-related template. The HA candles will not give you proper reversal candles, so it will be difficult to measure a proper entry a-la CH method. Once you become familiar with the 2 strategies, you can decide which one you prefer, or if you want to do your own version of a merged combination of the 2.

Having view the latest webinar, as with previous similar question, CH refuses to say what type of MA he uses. It's not a 15ma.
I try to make a comparision on my GU M15 chart and found that a 20 SMA, close, shift 0 is probabily what he uses.
Do any one has a different openion!

I think it was NeoRio that posted links to compassfx videos on using TDI (http://www.compassfx.com/video/flash/50508/50508.html). In the upper chart there are 2 yellow lines. Does anyone know what the indicator is that creates these lines? Is it possibley Triggers from compassfx website, with the colors changed from red/blue to yellow? If possible could that indicator be posted here. Very visual presentation of price moving around a channel. Thanks.

Neo, Eel, anyone else care to comment., interested in your 2862 post re ha candles and entries. This is the first comment I have seen mrnetioning HA candles not being valid for ch entry. So, a bit of confusion here. If I recall correctly doesnt he have a video promoting use of ha candles or something similar for his method?

Nope...not Craig's gig...
Now, Dean Malone on the other hand, that's part of his method.
Craig, does some guest trader webinars on CompassFX where Dean also trades.
They are two completely different approaches to the market. Both are very successful with their method of trading.
The saying that, "there is more than one way to skin a cat," comes to mind.
This thread is an attempt to combine those aspects of each method into a trading method that keeps the best of both. Of course, as Dean and Craig's styles point out, not to mention the introduction by Eel of the Norwood method, that trading successfully is really about finding what works for you. Each of us are individuals that perceive what we see and "feel" about what we think we see in different ways. We react accordingly. Once a person gets the S/R and MM aspect of trading down pat the act of reading your charts as you like them to look is pretty much subjective.

The difference between the HA candle and a typical Japanese candle is the way they are calculated. Hence, when applying CH's methods to enter a trade you would be off target. Notice on the attached charts how finding a CH Reversal Candle entry on an HA candle setup is behind that of a Japanese Candle entry. Not that it can't be adapted, but just not the same entry.

Study old setups...find what works for you...make it your own.

For me, less is more...

Your kicking up a lot of dust. I imagine you haven't taken the time to read the whole thread.

When you wanted to know if you had to download a FXDD Demo platform... I said yes because if your wanting help I want you to see exactly what I see when I'm attempting to help. That's the only reason to download it and it can be uninstalled in a flash if it's not wanted or needed. Certainly not a big deal...

There is NOT an ea for the fractals as you enquired.

I presented the CH method straight up. I also added what I use and how I trade. I'm not forcing my method on others in any way. If you don't like the way I trade then that's your business.

I've presented other methods and indicators that also work. Some use them and some don't.

Be positive and add something if you want but if your not happy... I'll assume you'll move on....

I'm sorry, I'm not familiar with what's under the hood of the TDI. I don't use it. Since it is a proprietary indicator belonging to CompassFX, I doubt they will give out the mq4 code to the indicator. If you are referring to the blue bands that make the outer edge of the indicator...they do look like a variation of Bollinger Bands, but I don't believe they are the same. I believe Big E knows which MAs make up the red/green lines. I believe the yellow line is the market sentiment.

Right, I believe Big E made it clear right in the first page or 2 of this thread that the HA candles are not the staple part of the CH trading method, but an element to his trading that helps him know how long he can stay in a trade before it will reverse. When I started out with this concept I created 2 templates right next to each other...1 with just the CH elements and a 2nd one with Big E's HA elements. I used the CH for entries and the Big E for exits...to try and "ride the wave" of the trade longer by reading the color of the HA candles.

Please note that HA candles are very different than regular Japanese candlesticks. Japanese candlesticks show you the open, close, high and low of a candle, HA candles show you the high and low, but not the open or close, instead they average out a certain number of previous candles to give you a calculated average range and then it is colored as a bullish or bearish candle. Since the CH method uses RC (reversal candles) for many of the entries, you will not get the same RC reading using HA candles, are the color will be different than a Japanese candlestick.

Naw, just kidding.

I subscribed to Dean's trade room for awhile. Learned quite abit from him. Craig's a bit spendy for me, so I have not traded with him. Quite sure his disciplined approach would do me a world of good though.
Dean's trading record is very public over at CompassFX. So very easy to check out. CompassFX has a very good rep for only working with traders that actually trade successfully. That, in itself, I think, would vouch for Craig's success with his method.
I'm not aware of either of them posting there results on a tracker service. That'd be kinda cool thing to do, i think.
Bascily just going on their reputations for the most part.

I believe this is what makes it difficult for someone that trades one way has a difficult time for someone else to duplicate that success. But it is possible, with dedication and discipline to follow through.

I have been trying to learn to trade PA (price action) and would I be correct to say ...
I want to take a M15 trade with TDI and Stoch where the M15 opens above or below the previous 4H Hi or Low? also an H1 that opens below or above this also?
