I realized I have to set manually SetBuyReady1=true/false and SetSellReady1=true/false.
So we have to do this all the time by looking at the MACD?

No,I would set them to false. The program will set the BuyReady1 and SellReady1 automatically for you. These parameters are for you to use, if you don't want to wait for the program to set the flags. Maybe you look at the chart when you first attach the EA to the chart and you notice that the BuyReady1 conditions would have been met a few bars ago. Then you can manually set the flag to true and the program will start looking for BuyReady2 conditions. This is just a way to start trading right away if you think conditions are right. I would leave them at false if you have any doubt about current trading conditions. The program will automatically figure out the trading conditions. I hope that helps. Backtesting gave the same errors on my Alpari demo as EK24.
Loaded it on a EURUSD 1hr chart and let it run this night. Let's see what happens. I like the idea!
@rfarris: search on you tube "how to load an Expert Adviser" or install instead of load. Or search on this forum....
The "Mari EA" goes in the expert-folder of your broker, the "tma centered mari" goes in expert/indicators. Template goes in /templetes of your brokers folder. Restart MT4, open an 1hr chart, load the mari templete. That should do the trick.
I hope you'll forgive my ignorance though, but I can't get it to backtest. Could you please iterate a step by step setup?

1. Decide what pair you want to back test.
2. Go to TOOLS/HISTORY CENTER - this should bring up a list of all the pairs
3. Double click on the pair you want to test - this should list all the time frames
4. Double click on 1 minute - then press the download button - this will load one minute data for that pair.
5. When the progress bar has completed..hit the download button again and this will ask you if you want to recalculate all the timeframes - yes you do.
6. Now you will have all the data you need to back test.
7. Now press the magnifying glass icon at the top - this will bring up strategy tester
8. Under Expert Advisor - Select Mari
9. Under Symbol - Select the pair you just download data for.
10. Under Period - Select your large time frame - i would use 1H....but you can test other ones.
11. Click the Use Date box and select a range of testing dates....i have been testing with 1/1/2009 to present.
12. Under Model - select tick data
13. Go to the Expert Properties button at the right and click it.
14. This will bring up all the external parameters that you can set for the EA, I would keep everything default except, change the CheckOncePerBar to false and you might want to set Use_RSIFilter to false.
15. Then press start
16. If you check the journals tab - you will see some displays of some of the internal variables of the program.
17. The results and graph tab will show you how the EA is performing.
18. When the testing has completed. check the Report tab. This will give your some statistics of how the EA performed.
Tallcoolone, can you post 5min template, that naningbot thread is monster to figured out.

hi Altoronto, go the the nanningbob thread and click on the attachments paperclip in the corner. nanningbob has posted a template for the TMA. I think it is basic 6.0 template for something like that. Just attach that to a 5 minute chart and you will see basically what my program is looking at.
If some could figure out how to put the 5 min TMA on the 1 hour chart. That would be great. Thanks!

Hi, it is hard to say. I have had some trades on both those pairs. Does it look like the trading conditions are right for a ReadyBuy1 or ReadySell1?
The HUD should also tell you if those indicators have been set or not. The HUD will also tell you if the ReadyBuy2 and ReadySell2 conditons have been met.
Hopefully you are not trying this on a live account but testing it on a demo account. If you are testing it on a demo account, load up with more than 2 pairs and see what pairs are working well with this strategy - just my 2 cents.

No,that was just be demonstrating where the EA would possible take trades. The yellow & green lines were put in there by me using Paint.

Not sure. You could try turning off the conservative settings and see if you get any trades kicked off. The EA button at the top is green? You have a smiley face in the corner correct? Also try some other pairs, let see if you get any trades at all.
