Hi All

attached is my attempt at putting the VWB II data into a excel spreadsheet for:
eurgbp
eurjpy
eurusd
gbpusd
usdcad
usdchf
usdjpy
audusd

The dates are from 19 Sep 05 to 7 Feb 06 (19 Sep 05 was selected because prior to that date there appears to be missing daily data on the interbankfx history file on some of the pairs???). I have also taken out all data from Sunday trading days (my guess in doing this - futures markets don't trade Sundays and spot markets are traditionally thin on Sundays). The data is from interbankfx (can't vouch for it's accuracy!). For all paris except chf & usdjpy there are 102 records. in chf & usdjpy there are 101 records (I haven't looked into why - a date missing somewhere - possibly there was no market on these 2 for a day??)

I am confident I have put correct formulas into the spreadsheet (as per the VWB II document) but stress that it shouldn't be relied on - maybe Vegas can cast his educated eye over it.

As far as updating the spreadsheet - not sure how often this should happen. To do this you will need to insert a row (or rows for more than 1 entry) at the bottom and then (a) copy formulas down; and (b) change all casting formulas to take in the new row(s). I have done a bit of excel programming (in VBA) and this process could be more automated with some more work http://www.forexfactory.com/forexfor...ons/icon10.gif.

I would be happy to update the spreadsheet weekly (over the weekend) if this frequency is sufficient. Someone let me know.

As per the carpenter's creed - measure twice cut once - doh! I just rechecked my calcs on the spreadsheet and found that the H's & L's were reversed so I edited my post and put the edited spreadsheet in (I was hoping to do this before anyone had a chance to read my post). So, if you opened the file please delete it and reopen the file again - sorry about that!!

BTW - I absolutely love your explanatory charts. Being a visual sort of person I learn best when pictures accompany the words - and your pictures are up there with the best my friend - please keep it up, it is mucho appreciated.

Everyone,
For those who are interested in my remaining Cable short position [7 contracts], I have a buy stop at 1.7561 for 3 contracts and the other 4 are at breakeven which is 1.7891.

Since this position was put on before I released VWB Part II, I feel it only fair to keep all of you updated.

resident excel moron here - please disregard spreadsheet from my previous post (post #63) as the H & L in column "H" were reversed. I tried to edit the post and change the attachment but alas - that didn't workhttp://www.forexfactory.com/forexfor...cons/icon8.gif.

I have now fixed this error and the attached 'revised' spreadsheet should be OK.

Hey Heavy J, I appreciate your charts and analysis. Vegas, you have brought me light years into learning how to trade with your vwb model. Keep the charts coming heavy J, I am not going to miss this one on cable. I am patiently observing (not trading). Like Vegas said, all the pips you miss watching are not worth near as much as the value of what we learn from watching price action at these levels. Will be watching for reversal day!!

I jumped into eur/jpy instead of usd/jpy was this an error on my part? I thought I saw the right signs on this pair also. I have made money but I'm trying to figure out if I missed something that should have told me to go usd/jpy and not eur/jpy?

I also shorted the EURJPY (demo money trade though) following VWB system.

I saw a double top, then two inside bars in a row (signifying congestion), and then a final powerful thrust to the downside breaking the up trendline.

I shorted as that breakout bar closed and I closed (for 100 pips) as price touched the tunnel.

No,you didn't miss anything. It's just that I didn't get a chance to trade eur/jpy because PAP (passionate About Profits) Trader at C2 wasn't up and running before the market turned. I didn't want to chase it last night, so I just passed on this particular trade.

As it happened, usd/jpy waited so I got the chance to act on the signal.

P.S. to heavy J
Your chart analysis of usd/jpy and your interpretation of "the signal" was right on. We got 2 out of 3 concepts, and the momentum took the pair lower quikly in the spot. Now, we have a free trade going. Like I said before, tis is what trading [the right way] is all about.

If I'm reading the C2 signal correctly, you just took profit on a third of your JPY position. But I can't see why. Explain please kind sir?

I'm also short on eur/jpy and enjoying the free run..I initially was short on usd/jpy yesterday based on my confluence of trend line theory but backed off for -46 pips ;-(

I have re-entered today at 118.05 with 118.55 SL (found some confluence support at 118.47). Hope this SL could take care of any corrections..I anticipate this pair might break the tunnel and go all the way to the lower fib. Let's see how this rolls..

Whenever I get in a trade where we've had the signal early in the day, I will sometimes, depending on price action, book a profit on a partial position. The smallest I could do in futures is obviously 1. This just insures that for all of our resolve in getting the signals correctly, we walk away with something for our effort.

I usually won't do this with Cable or the S&P, but for the crosses and JPY [which are less volatile] I sometimes do this. It's just a market call on the less volatile pairs.

Hope this explains it.

Thank you Vegas. That makes sense.

To avoid another post, please allow another question.

I took the futures entry price on the JPY and took the reciprocal to get the spot price. But it was different from the spot price on my chart by a large amount (between 10 & 20 pips as I recall).

Is there a special calculation required to convert between future and spot prices?
