Ever since i took an international finance class in college 3 years ago. I was hook on forex. I started to study forex soon after. But i started candle by candle and learned patterns and formations and learned 4 hour philip nels trading system because would put together audio and charts on forex factory.

But i did not advance really until i started studying VSA only like 1 years ago.
As you go along you started to understand little by little.

For example:
I dont take trades on the right shoulder of a double bottom.
I dont trade at even number prices (1.40 or 1.390) unless it is in a range.
I dont take a trade on a single bounce (not enough background to make judgement).

But i studied hidden gaps all back post. That helped alot to get me to another level.

Then i went candle by candle using vsa princples.

Head and shoulders and double and triple bottoms and tops and false breakouts. These are the most impotant i have found when looking at background.

Remember that any VSA happen on a downtrend will be the same on a uptrend but just the opposite.

New to posting, but have been following your thread for the last month or so and have been reading material about VSA. I have traded mostly Daily, Weekly Pivots off the hourly and trend continuations off retracements of 12ema, or major trend breaks. In your thoughts what levels can the Euro push down to before bouncing up here (if thats what we are both thinking _? It broke the hourly downward trend on the 03:00-04:00 bar, but has gradually pulled a 61.8% retrace over the last 3 hours. I just put a long position with very light leverage at 3780, but could possibly see it testing the daily pivot at 3759. As i am typing this getting a push up from 61.8 support on the 15 min recent move downward. Going to be looking to catch this move up through euro session. LMK any other thoughts
I have only been reading up on VSA. I currently do not have a substantial data feed with a sufficient volume indicator, other than MT4 through FXDD. What would be your best recommendation, E-Signal Feed and Programs through TradeGuider or is there other options for beginner VSA'ers to get some exposure to usable volume data? Seen some post about 'ninja trader' and some indicators DLs that you posted?

Nice Move up huh!!! blah...got stopped out for 30 pips. Easy play down after a reverse hammer on the 15 min chart at 02:45, hindsight always 20/20 obv. In forums You will not get mainly anything step by step..

I suggest You read book and then MAYBE start reading forum.

Something's odd with the pair.
On H1 we can see that on the move up from 1,6000 the big volume is on down bars...then its going up on low volume. Its making false break upside and reverse with high vol. Once its done its going up slowly.

Is it some kind of distribution ? if so we should see 1,6000 again

But then you still need a couple 100 hours to go through this stuff and practice, practice, practice.....

It was mentioned several times in this thread to read MTM (read it a couple of times) and then go through this thread and concentrate on posts by Mal, HG and Intel. That's all for free and you still need the same amount of time as above and practice, practice, practice.....

There is no shortcut in learning VSA

I agree otrix for some notes you mentonied about practice that is true for every buissnese you need time to learn to be a good but i cant agree to read MTM and thats it,as i said many times before,that is just one way of trading Volume and just one princip that guy traded,my advice is to create way according his persoanlity and style of trading,for example i trade PA and i love trendlines and chanels,i combine Volume with that and i have great succes ratio and wich is more important i enjoy to trade that way..

Buyers came in for sure but were quickly wiped out...PURE momentum uptick
Now will see if 1.3700 holds.... ..Or is it going to be a Stopping volume that fails on the 4hr TF..

Yep i know that but i said that he musnt work according one book,if he dont enjoy to trade that if he want to create their way of trading Volume that is much better,i trade totaly different from malc but i also have great succes and as i said i enjoy to trade that way.I use Volume just how i need and more simplicity is for me much better...

They say that Interbank FX demo has almost same volume than eSignal.

I know what you mean, Petar;
But juhanimi was answering to a question about how to learn VSA fast, not about how to trade using volume.

So the answer to the question is yes, in order to learn VSA as it is, one should (must) read MTM, more than once.
It doesn't mean that, after you get the concepts and start to trade them, you can't apply them on some type of variation that suits you. I think we all more or less do that.

This is a VSA thread, where everyday new people come interested in learning about it;
What you trade isn't VSA - you use volume in a different way.
It doesn't mean your way isn't interesting (your success tells otherwise), but don't go telling people who wish to learn and ask about one thing, to do otherwise.

If they ask VSA, we answer VSA - It's totally up to them to, after reading (or not) the recomended books, to apply different stuff and concepts, variations, indicators... or even to return to RSIs, MAs and MACDs.

I thought that 2 hour showed strength off 1.3670 yesterday but the facts is that , for now anyway, on any bounces buyers just run out of steam. The 4 hour hulls is still red and this means that trend is down on bigger picture

was there strength , I thought so , but for now either 1.3700 is being tested of that little up move got absorbed.
