Anybody determined the optimum pairs on BWB taking into account things like hedging, average daily moves, crosses etc?

I am currently running on the following pairs

USDCHF,GBPUSD,USDJPY,EURUSD,EURCHF,AUDUSD,USDCAD,EURGBP,EURJPY,GBPJPY

Or should we just stick to Trader101s 14 pairs?

I've been trading TB live for about a month now on 10 pairs with lot sizes of .3 and .1. Currently, I've taken about $900 in profit with a floating DD of $1500. The profit may have been higher, but I've closed some of the trades in massive DD along the way. Thanks to Steve and the others for the free money!

What I'd really like to know is how some of you are managing your trading. Running robots is a great way to stay in the game when you're away from your PC. However, different robots are better for different market conditions. Also, robots can always be outperformed by a real person.

This is where I come to my problem. I don't have enough capital to open three or four accounts so that I can run mulitple trading systems and have accounts that I personally trade live. I happen to be an IT professional, and I can modify MQ4 code to use magic numbers or comments to support mulitple systems. However, everytime there is a new release of the code, I have to go back and reapply my changes as well as test before releasing the code live... This makes it not exactly free. More often than not, I don't find time to reapply my code changes. Also, when I do trade manually, I have to stop any running systems and this can cause different issues.

How are others working through this? Do you have to keep everything separated with multiple accounts? How about your personal code changes? Any advise on how to handle this efficiently and elegantly would be greatly appreciated

I'm with you on this. One option is to wait until the EA code base has pretty much settled down and then add the Magic number stuff.

It would be better if the EA's could allow magic numbers (even as an option) so those that have a problem with it could leave operating just like it is now and those that do not care about the Magic number being sent to the broker or more importantly would like to trade other EA's and manual trade on the same account could also be catered for. I have read numerous times, the brokers can tell it is an EA or script with or without the magic numbers anyway.

Hi I need some help with the BWBB EA. I loaded the template in my ibfx platform yesterday and its working great. Not however after shutting down my pc and restart the platform the BWBB doesnt work anymore. Any advice on it? Im new to EA here.

I keep getting an error message on forexmeta:

"Basket Order Send Failed (error 4106) unknown pair NZDJPY"

Is there a way to disable that pair or what should I do? The alert continues to chime every second.

I'm guessing you using BWB ea. Your broker does not have the NZDJPY pair. Reload the ea and delete the pair from the pairstotrade line of the ea

Is there an EA that would manage all trades? After specified time trades would close separately depending on how long they have been on.

Someone posted on another thread about a way he is using the MPTM with the Instant Trail and got me thinking on how to do this...

Can anyone help me with some settings?

I will like to use the MPTM to manage all the trades from the Nanningbob system and all my other trades as well on IBFX...

Initial Take Profit = 15 pips
Close 1/2 the trade from 0.1 to 0.05 after Initial Take Profit hit
Trail the reminder of the move at 0.05 with a 15 pip SL (BreakEven)
If price goes into T2 (30 pips) then close 2/3 the trade from 0.05 to 0.1
Trail the reminder of the move at 0.01 with a 5 pip SL

Is this possible with MPTM? Which settings should I be using?

Here's a variation on the Vegas model that I think is simpler and possibly better. It replaces the 17/34 cross with 2 indies (ALF & ALMA). Entry signal is when ALMA crosses ALF. Exit is recross, eliminating PSAR and all that dot counting. On the attached chart, ALF is white & ALMA is magenta. If you're not familiar with them, ALF, according to FF old-timer LouG, is a "superior overbought/oversold indicator," & ALMA is basically a very smooth 5EMA. In combination with Squalou's "at-a-glance" version of Vegas' trend indy, it makes for pretty simple trading.
Anyhow, just throwin' it out there.

I've attached a screenshot of my BWB screen. Please note the NOT TRADING in the upper left hand corner. It hasn't taken a trade since yesterday AM.

I am new here. I have been studying FX and trading small accounts for several years now. My computer skills are small.

I am trying to load The Beast into my experts folder by clicking on The Beast.mq4 file and dragging it to the experts folder. When I do this I get an error message "Access is denied".

Can anyone help me get it loaded?

1/ You need to select (as in double click) the [Start BasketWithBalls] text item shown on the screen.
2/ Now you have it selected, drag it to anywhere else in the same window and let go.

This will start the EA.

What Operating system are you using?

This sounds like a folder permission issue, which is a little odd, but maybe just try right click on the folder icon. Select properties and check the permissions. It needs to be writeable and this needs to be applicable to you as the user.

Other than that, make sure you are not editing the file.. I.e you don't have it opened with some other application.

Oh, and make sure you reboot and try again.. If it is Windows, it can become very confused at times.

If your OS is Vista, try this:

Go to your program folder
Find your MT4 folder and open it
Right click on experts folder
Select Properties at the foot of the list
Select the Security tab
Select the blue Edit button
Check (tick, if you're UK!) all the Allow boxes for the various Group or user names

..... then you should be able to load your EA into the experts file

Windows 7 might be same ...... dunno!

I am using vegas auto trading robot by steve in euro/usd 5 min chart. All are default settings. Many times the following alarm came :

EURO/USD OP_SELL Naningbob order send failed with error (130 ) ; invalid stop

Why this ? Any prob with settings? Thanks.

have you set the stop loss tighter then that your broker allows?

I too am testing the vegas bot (great work Steve and Squalou!!) and so far this morning I've had 6 out of 6 winning trades with the new bot that doesn't close on crossover. This is with 10pip tp and 25pip sl. Set to breakeven after 5, adding 1 pip of profit. The rest I left at default. With these setting I try to stay close to Vegas's instructions apart from the trading hours. For testing I thought it was best to leave it on 24hours a day and then see for myself which hours produce the best trading.

Thanks to all who offered suggestions for loading The Beast. I have it loaded with a smiley face in the upper right hand corner. Now I need to determine what I have.
