it may be a bit pre-mature but will keep an eye on this potential set up, which might even fit into a 'C leg' trade, with the trend, for a butterfly set uphttp://3.bp.blogspot.com/_dswi7ZSR8G...+leg+trade.gif
after reviewing some of gartley's original work, until the relevent ledge has been penetrated, then the trend is down

gartley against the trend, however the rally support ledge was tested and failed, so we will be looking to initiate a short position as per mr gartelys original idea

thanks reynante & elitejets, i appreciate your comments, i'm still learning this methodology though things seem to be more consistent recently, especially with a thorough application of abcd's as the main foundation of the analysis

while I'm not particulary comfortable with his early t/p's, the the 3 daily bar trailing stop is interesting to consider for bigger time frames instead of, or in addition to price target extensions, but i will still use price extensions for 15-30 minute charts

the larger time frame ABCD (maroon) maybe completed but finished short of target, or needs to have another attempt to complete.
Lower time frame there seems to be a small abcd (blue) forming with-in a gartley set-up (or just a stand alone abcd). b looks just to be 1 wave up, so possible that d could form the Gartley b

Let's see if this one will get this for up.

Get a weekly chart of AUDUSD up and put fib retracements on the big moves, and then go down to a daily or 4hr and do the same. Look how many times the AUD goes to the 88.6fib ... Works on a few of the AUD crosses too

i'm bringing my stop down a little.Hopefully i'll hit my first target close to the 61.8.I'll be watching that outer trendline too in case it reverses.My other target is at the test of the lows then 127. Will see. tex

against the main trend, but has broken previous resistance ledges (pink) and .786 comes in at prior support (grey). abcd @ .618, and 1.27abcd @ .786

is it with or against the trend? if you think it is with it then let part of the position run, as it is very powerful continuation pattern. If you believe it is against the trend, then secure most of your profit before the pivot at 1.38

resistance and nice fib cluster ab=cd @ 1.27xa, only concern is that it's not at the end of a trend

nothing bullish about this, was asleep when the ab=cd touched...

looks similar to audjpy...previous resistance holds along with abcd, but as with the aj, it's not a convincing end of trend position
