Bob will publish details when he is ready, I believe. Right now, it's being tested. Bob went live with pennies last week. It looks promising. The main idea is to try to figure a way that will allow one to trade Bob's basic ideas under the new US regulations.

and since I don't have access to the main TB post, I had to hijack this NB rookie discussion. I hope I am not clouding the original intention, but there is no special post for TB. If I missed it, please direct me there.

On the other hand,

I have a case in USDSEK and I believe there might be a small glitch in TB.

Here is what I observed.

I have an open buy 0.1 lots @ 6.73516 - current (doing only primary trades with 01. lots)
Before TB opened this buy, there were another buy 0.1 lots that is closed with profits around 4 minutes ago. That buy order hit the S/L of 30 pips.

The interesting part is that this USDSEK pair is in recovery even though there is only 1 open trade (I checked that TB requires 2 primary for recovery, at default settings). There were no two primary trades open simultaneously.

I have a re-entry line @ 6.58398.

Also I have a hedging trade open in this pair=>
0.2 lots @ 6.67960

Another thing I don't understand is that hedging only starts at 5000 (500pips) and my hedging started at 6.73516 - 6.67960 = 5556.

Can it be slippage or trade not filled right, I don't know? Or perhaps it is related to profit calculation... or a calculation issue in the code.
Or maybe when the trade is in -5000, RSI was suggesting not to take the hedging trade.

Another issue is with Hedging itself. In TB there is no Hedging S/L nor T/P, even though they exists in MPTM. Perhaps Steve left them out in TB for some reason.

Please see the picture attached for more detail. Over there you can see the not jumping S/L in the hedging trade... or perhaps it is not supposed to jump at all by design.

Finally, I just realized that the bar count = 0 whereas all the other pairs have some value around 170. In the code, USDSEK doesn't have a hard coded bar count even though is has a hard coded re-entry line value.

Steve abandoned the original NB5 robot thread. It went off the tracks from the original idea, but people still seem to be having fun with it. If anyone owns the thread now, I think it is Max. Thus, I don't think its possible to hijack this thread anymore.

I'm sorry, but I'm not competent enough with the code to know what's going on with the hedging. The issue of it going into recovery when it did is interesting, and I don't have an explanation for it. Wish I could help more.

It would be beneficial if when the pending orders are deleted the accumpanying chart arrows were also deleted ( they currently remain on the chart )
It makes it much clearer when evaluating both current and history to immediately see which trades are / were active

The 'aqua ' color take profit line is not updating to reflect the correct level when more than 2 trades are opened in recovery mode ( 2 here assumes using default setting )
It appears to be updating within the code and closing out correctly, just the chart line is wrong
Currently the only way to update the chart line is to double click and delete it, then it will re appear in the correct position
Hope you can look into this

I have my first hedge trade on the Beast today. GBP/CHF took off and now need to hedge back to profit. I had 18 currencies running. Stopped as many as possible once they were in profit (due to overtrading and undercapitalization) to allow me sufficient margin to continue on with this test of hedging. ( any pair with chf just don't stop at the moment!) Brown stains in my pants but if this works.... Look out!!

BIG LESSON - check your capitalization before trading to many pairs.
Just trade the pullback you idiot!

Hi Steve and other coders,

I believe there is a small bug in the BE and jumping SL calculation.

Here is what I observed =>
BreakEvenPips: 30 pips
BreakEvenProfit: 10 pips
JumpingStopPips: 10 pips
JumpAfterBreakevenOnly: true

trading pair: EURJPF

there is an open buy @ 111.920
the price moved to 112.220 by 30 pips and TB set breakeven to 112.020 as expected

after that,

the price moved down a little, below 112.220 and then moved back up to abve 112.220. When the price hit 112.220 on its way up for the second time, JumpingStopPips got activated and moved S/L 10 more pips, to 112.120, even though it should have waited for price to move till 112.320.

I think the problem is that even though JumpingStopPips waits for the BreakEvenPips to start working, it doesn't take into account that the market price already hit order open price. It just assumes that this is first time and moves S/L according to its definition, which is =>

"Market price hits order open price + 300 (100 in our case): moves sl to break even."
S/L thinks that the order open price is now 112.220, which is actually true, but we want the S/L to move 10 more pips once the price hits 112.320... not when it hits 112.220 for the second time.

We don't observe this problem at default settings because there is no room left for S/L to jump 30 more pips after the first 40 pips coming from BreakEvenPips even if the price moves up and down around that level.

2nd issue:
I manually lowered S/L just to see how TB is going to react it.

TB, as I expected, changed my new S/L, but not back to the original point. TB assigned a new S/L, which was 10 pips below the current price.

JumpingStopPips: 10 pips
S/L was 112.220 and the price was 112.350
I lowered S/L down to 112.150 and TB immediately put S/L up to 112.250, not 112.220.

I don't know if this is what I should have expected.


By the way, the forum won't let me to upload this picture due to quota restrictions. Is there anyway to delete my previously uploaded pictures so that there will be room left for new ones, or my quota is going to increase in time?

I have read the relevant threads, so forgive me if I have overlooked something or if this is a dumb question, but here goes:

I have downloaded The Beast EA and put it on demo. It's placed trades, but no TP set on those trades. Is it supposed to place these? Do we need to place them manually?

BTW, I have also downloaded and read the manual.

You need to change to UseTplTp=true (it is false by default) if you want the blue TP line activated. This was not working right up until the latest version.

Otherwise the default is white line to TP. When primary and secondary trades hit the white line, the trades get closed.

Or, BreakEvenPips and jumping SL will take care of the profits you can get. By default, once the trade moves 40 pips in favor of you, it will put a S/L at 30 pips... and if the price keeps moving on, there is jumping stop loss which will jump S/L by 30 pips. The price will either hit the white line or will close at some S/L.

That does help a lot -- thanks!

But this is crazy. I just checked one demo account, which I'm trading 4 pairs on. On one of those pairs, it put in the blue TP line, but the UseTplTp setting is set to false. Why would it do that?

Also, is it best to activate the blue TP line, or let the white line be the TP line?

Make sure you are using the latest version. Previous version was putting blue TP line into the charts eventhough UseTplTp=false. I believe it is fixed with the latest update. I am using it and it no longer does that.

Okay, that's the thread where I downloaded the EA from. So I wonder why it put the blue TP line on one of my pairs -- the gbp/usd.

It just did it one time, though, and it's not doing it now.

Would it be possible to program a "close basket" option when the basket reaches a certain loss? So, I mean a SL for the whole basket?

On the new MPTM I've seen the following: Manage All Trades - true/false - Nanningbob trades - true/false...

Can someone tell me:
1.) if I'm using Nanningbob's v6 - both of them should be true?
2.) if I'm using The Beast - should I only have Manage All Trades - true?

I am not interested in an auto trading robot, but I am seriously interested in someone who is able to write some alerts for a short term trend trading method that I have been using for a while and is very successful. The person who is willing to code the alerts will get in return a very valuable method to trade 15 min charts with that follow the 4 hr and daily trend
2 traders viewing now
