Tried this in 'place order n forget it' way, 20W12L for this week, net profit -60pips, seems the rules need more restrictions especially like tp/sl ratio etc..

Hi All.

Did something out of character today, traded even though it was a Friday. Only one trade placed as I was not at my desk for most of the trade. Set it and forgot it (manually) Got my 11 pips...Sold EUR/USD @ 1.38261, bought to close @ 1.38150 (Left about 9pips on the table)

So running total of trades is 12W1L, total pips +42 (keep in mind my previous post that I am trading manually and closing out positions if I feel uncomfortable with them...hence the pip count may not cast to the trades won) Still in the black though, two days in a row, which has never happened for me

Looking back at the PA for the day there would have been two more possible trades for me to take.

My record for the week is 18W/6L=+60 which would be good if I was trading even lots or 4 out of the six losses weren't in a row. which currently leaves me down a little over 9% for the week, but I'm still in the market at least for a couple more hours.

In case you didn't catch my post last week, CANCEL ALL ORDERS BEFORE THE MARKET CLOSES, I had some active orders over the weekend and one entry and SL was hit within a few minutes after the market opened.

Not a bad week of manual trading using this method. Ended the week with 18 wins and 4 losses (+130 pips). Homework for this weekend is to game different SL options to reduce magnitude of the losers while preserving winners and solidify my twists on the core rules.

Maybe the EA only works live on a "Real" account and not a demo account. I guess it doesn't really matter. I'm not going to trade this method w/ real money since I don't think it is viable. At first I thought the concept was interesting, but I am loosing interest now. Good luck to everyone.

there are many such ideas but building a trading system is the key. for example buy when yesterday high is broken. most of the times it goes past and gives you some pips. but then how do you know tp, sl ?

looks like jaws has a plan with 5 pairs and limiting one at a time. we would wait and see. i would definitely as trading hours to the system. i dont trade in asia and late US hours....

I only use this method manually when situation arises. Building an EA along those you suggested is most certainly a step to ascertain if an EA is profitable or not. Also you may consider using an SMA100/200 - another tool that will served as a support and resistance where you can laid your pending orders as a bait in case PA will penetrate towards those level. If you are a long time trader SL may not be necessary (IMO), as a scalper you have to.

First off, thanks for bringing this method to light. Seriously, I have been at Forex for close to three years now, and this is the first time that I have been able to achieve these types of results, pips, $ or win/loss ratio wise. So I still have a little trepidation before getting excited. Will continue to forward test and will post if you/anyone is interested.

You are wise to be cautious, this is also my longest period of consistent results without using either a huge SL, no SL or martingale progression which works for a while but eventually blow your account. I like the results so far but it's been less than 2 weeks and I have changed the way I trade it since I started, so I'll continue to be cautious at least for a couple months then if I'm still using it successfully I'll say it's a successful system. Who knows maybe it's just working now because of current market conditions.

Weekly recap using 25 pip SL/TP and entering at .0025 & .0075 on the 6 majors:

Trades were manually and not taken around the clock. Mostly in the Asian or US session.

I got started early, just after the market opened and my trades have not gone that well, I got 3w/3l and another one going now that's looking a bit weak, so I think next week I'll wait till just before NY open to begin my trading.

I tried this method in my demo a/c.

9 wins, 5 losses. Overall 135 pips profit, 150 pips loss.

It works, but following are my suggestions and i am going to try out :

1) Enter trade in the direction of the trend.

2) Watch when the price is in middle, means when price is bullish and climbing and reach, let us say 1.3960, enter long at 1.3985.

3) Watch if Price is falling, let us say 1.3950, when reaches 1.3915 enter short.

4) Take profit level : 25 pips.

5) Stop loss : 25 pips.

Today when i tried out, i noticed that when the price was bullish, the EA entered into short and got stopped out.
Intraday only.
Hi Guys, hope all are well.

I am by no means some one that should be paid to much attention to ito Forex, but it is clear to me that at this point in time, manual trading of this strategy is profitable whilst the EA is not...I made only one further trade this week so far, and it turned out to be a winner total now 13W1L 57 pips. Not fireworks but beats my previous returns of 5W400L -2000 pips
