Could be - risk markets appear to be taking a breather, so naturally the AUD would get hurt as well. Lot of headlines on the way though -- GDP this Friday, mid-term elections on Tuesday, QE2 announcement likely Wednesday and then the jobs report (NFP) next Friday. I'm not a big fan of all this uncertainty and don't have too many chips down at the moment...but that's just me.

need to clear the 38.2 (0.9540 area) and 50% (0.9440) retracements before we see that level but if we break and close 4hrly before 0.9540 then I think it's a strong odds bet.

My feeling about the QE2 announcement is that there is a serious downside risk for the markets. People are starting to say that 2 Trillion worth of QE is coming. If the markets only get 1/2 Trillion for example, the USD will take off.

JMO, but I think there's a better chance of God walking through my door than us getting $2 Trillion of QE. But I'm with you on the mkt being primed for disappointment. Seems like a classic buy the rumor / sell the fact set up.

BTW, a great read from Mr. Jeremy Grantham...just in time for halloween...

I was going to post this earlier, but got busy.

Navy beat Notre Dame in football again this year. In the past, Navy had a good team, Notre Dame had a good team, and Navy sort of upset them.

This year Navy had a very good team, who played a great game, and Notre Dame had a bad team. Navy just ran the ball down their throats.

Why am I posting this?

Those who watch college football know how much smaller Navy is than Notre Dame.

In probably the most violent team sport in the world, where size is king, Navy is tiny. Navy is tiny because their players agree to serve in the armed forced upon the end of their football career. Navy is tiny because the biggest and best go to schools like Notre Dame in hopes of playing in the NFL, while Navy's kids know they will go off to a possible war zone. None of Navy's players were recruited by Notre Dame, and none of them ever will.

So how does Navy win this game? Heart, determination, hard work, discipline. Many of the same things it takes to succeed in trading.

It was inspirational to watch.

I actually saw Navy play at Ohio State last year, and they were tough. Gave the Buckeyes all they could handle.
