Uk--look again, its still the same level as closed price, or mine is faulty .

Yea, it's a bit different to the usual weekend movements. Have a look at www.xe.com and click on GJ. The chart shows a 100 pip spike down after the close, before reverting back. The other JPY pairs show a similar spike.

I'm not saying we will see 129 this week, but I will be watching the downside very closely.

gbp/jpy and aud/jpy similiar setups --w egoing down

aud/jpy in a broadening top and 75.30 is the next target

i still don't know how to interpret that kind of data, and honestly i don't know how i could use it to my advantage. as long as the broker is closed... nothing we can do about it. i trade with oanda, and they seem to keep their feed open over the week end (although i must admit i don't check the quotes saturday night or sunday morning), but i have never seen such spikes.

as for 129, never say never. volume-wise, last weekly and daily candles are still on the buy side (although daily is right at support)... while last monthly candle is bearish - and i expect this downtrend to resume, at least for another test of support if not for a new low. BUT...! u-j still has room downside and g-u can climb another couple of hundred pips, which means that g-j will continue to move like a sick parrot, and i just don't want to waste my time with it.

I wouldn't be risking my life on 129 being hit because of the nature of the drop. There could be many reasons for such a spike which was very quickly reversed.
Typically though, weekend quotes at xe.com or INO get hit at some stage during the next trading week. In fact, i've mentioned this before; i've never known any which haven't.

BUT, and it's a big but, these quotes are not normally in spike form. Could simply be a system glitch. I'm with Oanda too and I think they get their feed from the same source as tenfore. I have seen 3 different sources of this data at xe.com, tenfore and INO.

Downtrend still intact on GBPJPY

Took profit on half and others are getting close to my target at the lower end of the channel
