hi steve,
i was going through the backtests, for the most part it was really working well the hedging function saved the trade in most instances.. (here goes) except when it ranges up and down with the rsi not hitting the required values...
TB is going to run and run, so I think we need time to see a runner develop and work out how to deal with the hedging issue when it arises.

Thanks guys, but it is only fair to give people a chance. Plus, I have been wrong before in my estimation of the value of a contributor - spectacularly so in the case of jtmoore007 in Bob's thread, for example.

Just finished reading the whole thread and had more and more fun getting closer to the latest posts.
Anyhow, without any comment here about the egotrippers, tempted to give this a try on the RENKO setup we talked about a few weeks ago.

Please keep us in touch with your RENKO results. On the face of it, RENCO charts are ideal for this system.

There is nothing new in the trading functionality. I have added my usual screen feedback, showing the most significant settings. This is a bit more that a simple cosmetic thingy; TB is a complex animal and it is easy to forget an individual input, but if you feel able to get by without this then you do not need the update.
There is a user guide on its way, written by FX Dragon. There are just a few updates to make to it first.

maybe it is a dutch thing,
but after reading this thread last night, i also came to the conclusion, this would be awesome to try, for renko charts.
so it is something i am also going to do tommorow.

Anybody confused about RENKO, visit ES Trader's thread at http://www.forexfactory.com/showthread.php?t=253545 for information about setting up the charts.
Basically, Renko candles only form after the market has moved x pips in one direction. For example, a 20 pip rising Renko candle will only form once the market has moved upwards by 20 pips.
Theoretically, this makes them excellent indicators of market movement. Applied to this system here and taking a potential short using, say, 20 pip Renko candles:
- rising candles take the market above the top gold line but the robot does not send the pendings until the market is 1 candle higher than the top gold line.
- this rising candles show the market is likely to continue to rise, and so our trade is not filled and we avoid dd.
- when the market does eventually begin its retrace, then by the time we see a falling candle formed, the market has retraced by 20 pips and it is much safer to allow the pending trade to fill.
Further implications for this bot include:
- PipsBufferFromTradeLine needs to be the same figure as the size of your Renko candles
- we would not want to send Recovery trades until the market has started to move back in our favour. Once it has done, it might be possible to send immediate market trades rather than pendings
- it might be possible to stay in a profitable move for longer
- the Renko candle size might be a good setting for the BE/JS/TS functions

if i understand it well, you mean to tell me, the Ea is already optimised for Renko use?
if not, no problem either, i will simply add the DC 3.6 indicator on the renko chart.
with different bricksizes.
that will be the only problem. lot of pairs would need different bricksize setups. since you have to take in the account of spreads, and that some brokers have 4 digits,5 digits, 6 digits. and that also prize differs with every pair.
and ofcourse i will let you know how it will go. i would be a criminal if i wouldnt. after the hard work you guys have put in, it is the least i can do

I just want to maybe try and help a bit
To increase your chances of hitting the white line in the middle more , it may well be a good idea on a Sunday night to pick all the pairs that have been ranging the previous week and even by looking at the weekly charts, the previous weeks aswell before that
Thats how I am pîcking my pairs to use the Beast on
Saying that though,...
If your idea does not work immediately and you start to get frustrated, try a compromise. Trade the BarCount-optimised pairs GU, GJ, UC, and use your ideas to filter out the other pairs.

Theoretically, it should be more resistant to MT4 and criminal's unintentional glitching.
Theoretically, it should make mucho shequelim

Our our resident B.S.D. (scooby) says, there is no totally automated strategy which will work. It will always require some thinking and adjustment to the facts of the world.
That USDJPY has been trendy is obviously pissing off the BOJ immensely and they'll try to fight it. If you think the BOJ is going to lose again---as they have been---then give it a try.
