Not really ... there's absolutely no strength in sterling - it and the euro got sold into on the up move. GBYJPY is heading up due to it's USDJPY component, which doulbe bottomed then bounced during Ben talk, for a possible retrace given the weeks it's been oversold. How long the bounce lasts and if real USD buying ensues, we'll see.

i'm not good in fundies ...correct me if i'm wrong...you were saying that pound and euro went up a little bit because of USDJPY movement, that means USDJPY must be going down and the pair is yen is stronger than dollar.so far what i could see (with all the pair that i monitor) euro is the strongest againts all....pound is stronger againts dollar but not againts yen. is that correct.

ps:are you selling the dragon rite now or just on the sideline?

Over the weeks as USDJPY has been getting sold (USD$ getting dumped), the USD component decline has been driving EURUSD amd GBPUSD upwards along with purchases. That's been making GBP and EUR look strong, because they've not been getting sold like USD - each of them were sold this morning as they topped. USDJPY put in a double bottom during Ben's speech and is 50+ pips up, an amount not often seen. Don't forget GBPJPY is simply GBPUSD x USDJPY.

Not really trading the yens nor GBPJPY - too screwy lately. I'm finding GU & EU easier. Here's a currency strength view - not sure how far back or what timeframe it refers to - I think it's a daily statement. (Look at the movement range for GU & EU)

not really sure how to interpret this , what from what i could see, the range are quite enormous...compared to other pair.i've seen this indicator before...one of my trader friend used it...but not really sure how to use this...if i was not mistaken...the lower cast number for individual currency show USD @ 6.57, ain't it suppose to be strong if the figure reaches almost 7.00.if that true means that USD have gain their strength back..since today is friday...most probably we'll see a fight back by next week...

Yes, 7 is the max, so it shows USD as being fairly strong (again on the cumulative day move, relative to what it normally does). If it shows strong today (on the meter) it doesn't mean the strength is back permanently; there re other currency strength meters that print wavy lines/graphs in a MT4 window that can be helpful to determine weekly strength indexes - Hanover has developed fantastic ones. Here, EUR shows 3.5 because it dropped 170 pips, while GBPUSD only dropped 90 pips. I use this to often trade the weakest against the strongest - while GBPJPY is still trending up, check CADJPY. GBPCAD was a good upside trade too, that Ashraf alerted me to - his twitters are great! Check this USDX item too.

I sold GBP/JPY this morning at 130.66 based on the upper channel resistance of the downtrend channel on a 4 hour chart. I'd post my chart, but don't currently have access. I'm sure someone has it drawn though. I see 128.50 as a reasonable target... that would take us near the lower portion of the down trend channel.

Nice trade - I didn't have the guts to pull the trigger - should have though, as you know USDJPY isn't rocketing anywhere soon - should be a period of consolidation to confirm a short-term bottom is in; might be all of a multiweek visit to the 38.2% fib (check the languishing at the start of my TL on that chart) And, if the USD is set to bounce at least a bit - ie,. a portion of the time out to Nov 3 - then GU and EU short plays should work along with GY and EY. AY I suspect too - 28 years of a wait for parity ain't gonna sail through there anytime soon, esp. on a commodity currency where recovery is anything but sure.

sorry taking to long to reply back...got occupied with my daughter...they all wanna press the keyboard together.

i do think that USD have found it support...bit still we need to see how's USDX closes for today. only one position left with SL and left for the weekend...GBPJPY...i think next week we might see some more downside...and still my bias is bearish on the GBPJPY....again this is FX and anything could happen....off then...have a nice weekend and see you back on monday... a fresh start...

BUT----- the big question is to where ?? is this a minor bounce or will we see 1.30/33 ? tricky ? but overall 1.4450 is the max limit before we drop to high 1.20's again...

i am going with shorts @ 1.4127 ,and see if i can push it to 1.3350 (will take some off at 1.35) ---use only a 70 to 100 pip stop...

GU--- im pending...

razza --my eur/usd and gbp/usd worked out quit ok ..as we hit 1.4127 on eur and GU @ 1.6100 --- and we had a signifficant bounce here..eur/usd close below 1.4 on weekly--we gotta love that ..

i keep an eye on S&P now for weeks ,and the next sessions we might see something happen here ,and aswell USD hit 76.00 ,and it was so obv for that level for the medium term low ---

jpy crosses will follow --

gbp/jpy we might take out the low-its the fav.
aud/jpy ---75.30
eur/jpy 108--
