Sorry to bother you or anyone else with this dumb ?
i have been trading tokyo for over 3 months now.
i am getting frustrated with just trying to load the ea.
I had it loaded once and i back tested it with not good results with IBFX.
I'm not sure if it is the 3-4 pip spread.
So i deleted it and am trying to load it again and i keep getting when i click save i get the name of ea as attachment...

here are my test results with default except gmt time to 0 for ibfx.
I can never seem to get good results back testing.
I must be doing something wrong. Frustrated
I feel like im must have something wrong with my testing, help.

I am changing from ibfx to (1pipfix ITFX).
I have back tested with them and make a big difference from IBFX.
ITFX results are like yours, where IBFX was all over the place.
I will let you know more as i go on.
They only have 1 pip spread compared to IBFX 4 pip spread.

Mac, Are your TSL 3 pips only? That's definitely too small

change at least to 9.. Lower your TSL, less profits there is

I'm using 22 sometimes trying 14

Also you can lower SL to 130 with the same results.

I will try it.
As we know very well, optimization take time, but I hope is going to the right direction.
I've been testing for such long time on FxPro. FXCM, SIG and Alpari and it seems to me Alpari is the best.

Interesting issue yesterday.

The EA took 3 trades, 2 Market and 1 limit.

Last night the EA reached profit on the first trade and took it. However the problem that I had was that when I woke up the EA was not trailing the initial trade, or in reality it should have stopped out the other two positions as the market had retraced.

Anyone else seen this issue with their testing? It's almost as if the position 1, 2, and 3 are reversed.

1st Live trade with advance last night made 3 x 7.3 pips only .01 lots so made enough for a cup of coffee LOL ( not starbuck's swill though)

I have results like you have there with geoffs 17a on FXOPEN.
Only thing i changed for test is posmaxopenhoursmin = 3 and i get no loses.
Now when i do the same test on IBFX i have about 10 losses real bad results.
I would send have copied graph and results here but i cant figure out how to copy them right so you can see them.dummy me.
I cant even figure out how to open zip files to see setting, i have tried lot of stuff with no resultsif anyone can help the dummy would be greatlyyyyy appreciated, have a good day

hey guys off the beaten path here but I was wondering if anyone knows how to download mt4 mobile to a smartphone..is it free like the regular acct or no? and do you have to download it from your broker website (i.e. FXDD)? thanks

Here is great Idea, while programmers have not much to do

I found on Dukuscopy Largest Swiss broker that MQL Language EA

can be converted into JForex which is Java using this tool

What this would give us? Dukuscopy has realistic tick data, if we

have this EA converted we can run it on JForex Dukuscopy biggest

Swiss broker with real most accurate tick data available.

Anybody can do that? It might convert on the fly, but some Java language

knowledge is preferable in case of some errors.

I will post the same on Advanced thread as well in case Pip come around,

to see what he thinks about it.

P.S:

But of course need source code to convert it..

Either have to wait for PIP or GEO or convert some old version

Skyzer , yes that would be great.
Dukuscopy seem like a good broker as brokers go.
They have a lot of happy customers it seems like in all my research.
They have MT4 in beta right now and i thought i read they are using there platform fromFXOPEN.
Wheather they take US citizens is another story.

Hi guys. I ran v18alfa4 on IBFX demo last night. Three trades (sell) opened at 1.57173 at 23:14. I let the trades run and let the robot do it's thing. I found that all three closed at 3x SL with large negatives at 09:30. I thought it was just bad luck until I ran a back test with the same settings. I was suprised to find that the trades closed properly on back test at 06:20 with about +8 pips profit each. When I expanded the chart to M1, it showed that there was about a six minute period (06:20- 06:26) when the PA showed profit to be +8 pips or greater. The PA fell below the +8 pips at the 06:26 M1 bar. Seem that the EA should have closed the treades. Question: What's going on? Thanks.

PS I used open hours=7 and min profit=8. Glad this wasn't a live trade.

Thanks for pointing this out. The EA handles the exit after 7 hours when the profit reaches +8 pips (or whatever you have set it up as). For some reason th EA did not detect this situation during the 6 minute window where the profit was +8 pips. This may have been due to the spread (how much higher than +8 pips did it go ?), server/internet connectivity issues or fast moving price around that time.

In any case, I think the solution would be for the EA to change the TP of each order after 7 hours to 8 pips (or whatever you have set it up as) and then the server can take care of exiting the position. There is still no guarantee it will exit, but at least this will protect you against slow internet/server/PC issues.

Thank you for tending to this little question. I thought it might be an issue with IBFX since back testing worked just fine. Then again this is just a demo so I wouldn't think that trading volume etc. would be an issue. I schedule any windows updates on weekends so server/connectivity might have been the problem, as you said.

At 23:14 trades (sell) opened at 1.57173. The 7 hour close window would trigger at 06:14. I also set +8 pips profit. Following PA after 06:14.

Heya Pip,

I've just taken my first peek at V18 & I'm amazed at what you've accomplished. Thanks for sharing!!

I've spent the past couple of months upgrading hardware & running optimizations with 17a & so far, 18's results are matching up with 17's.

I'll be running the rest of my optimizations over the weekend & will start trading 18 on my ATC Demo accounts on Monday.

I have 12 physical processor cores to work with and my machines are stable, so let me know if you need any specific optimization work done.

I think I might have found a decimal error.

I have both MiniOrdersAllowed and MicroOrdersAllowed=True (defaults)

On 17a, I was able to place the following trade:

12:48:00 2010.01.04 08:05 Tokyo_GBPUSD_v17a USDCHF,H1: open #1 sell 0.97 USDCHF at 1.03365 sl: 1.04375 tp: 1.03115 ok

Using the same settings on 18:

10:14:16 2010.01.03 18:04 Tokyo_GBPUSD_H1_v18_alpha4_DEMO_USE_ONLY USDCHF,H1: : ** EA Aborted ** 2010.01.03 18:00 Lot Size: 0.070000 is Too Small. Minimum Lot Size For This Account is: 0.100000

But, if I change MicroOrdersAllowed=false, I get a trade, albeit starting with 1 lot...

10:15:58 2010.01.04 08:05 Tokyo_GBPUSD_H1_v18_alpha4_DEMO_USE_ONLY USDCHF,H1: open #1 sell 1.00 USDCHF at 1.03365 sl: 1.04375 tp: 0.93365 ok

Other than that, most of my optimzation results are lining up (sometimes to the penny!) with 17a's results.
