Blue,
thanks for the bands research and posting the videos.
I think we are on the same page here, the goal is to find bands that we can use as a good counter-trend entry point component along with the other pieces that will cause fewer early entries, which will mean less drawadown, which will require less reserves and leverage - thats how this all came about.

I pointed out the TMA (which stands for Triangulated Moving Average) bands because I believed they were an improvement to the BB...and I still believe that but as I said u must use an...

Yah, I changed my settings for the STARC to this for this morning and doing visual forward test early this morning before NY open. I missed a couple entries, but I factored those in here:

22 pairs: 636.2 pips (minus spreads)

extern int MA_Period=5;
extern int ATR_Period=15;
extern double KATR=0.88;
extern int Shift=0;

These are aggressive settings, sooo.....

Sorry for the double post from the other thread, but wanted to share.

I agree OD...

yep, seems like I was wrong (again!). Entry with regular NB rules would have been in the + now...

Yah, do the opposite of what common sense tells you.

Then, on every other 3rd day of the 5th hour, reverse that, and reverse it again and not to do what you haven't done and then if you did do it, reverse it again.

Then, you will lose again. hahaha..a.......

Doesn't that sound like politics?

If it were the US, you would find that the 'think tank' (I f-in do not like that term as it reminds me of a toilet) is funded by REPUBLICANS FOR GOOD GOVERNMENT or DEMOCRATS FOR AN EASY LIFE etc...

Bob I trade your system using both counter-trend and trend rules.

The ea's works perfectly #1, #2, #7

- I use a manual method the trade the trend. Reverse of your rules. i.e if
your rules does not apply to the current price movement that means it's with the trend.

MY wish is for Steve to create a couple eas for entering with the trend i.e
1 MA jumps outside of the BB in news release the ea enters, if if comes back in the ea enters.

I have done this successfully, using your system, but I have to be in both state of mind..Trend and counter-Trend.

Like one Trader said in a forum.

" To be sucessful you have to be prepared to SELL when it's Time to, and be ready to BUY when it's time to."

So be flexible in a market that's changing all the time. BUT stick to the rules of the the particular Trend.

Help with the eas..
DEMO...acount starting Bal...$10000, current bal --$19 145.00 a bit aggressive.

Sounds good. Wish I had time to study some of this stuff. We are testing a BB breakout system now. If it works we will post it later.

Hey guys. A new robot is born out of Bob's trading methods. Go to http://www.forexfactory.com/showthre...17#post4071317 to read about it.

The trading ideas come from macman, and are therefore fantastic.

He optimized it I think, that is the main difference and running it on a different timeframe.

I did all that as well. I already have an EA that does this. It works quite well but when a currency does the unexpected, uh oh...

I ran into a problem with the GBPUSD when it decided to do an unexpected out of the ordinary run for 1000 pips full steam ahead in July/August.... Scared me....

I am out of a few trades now on the retracements schwoooo!

Now at BE after my new 3 week account opened. Still have a bit of drawdown, but manageable. I know I will be focusing on Primary trades for a little while.

It is a mistake for me to not do my daily trades but I dont have the time to post them. This causes a dilemma because now people dont see the system in action from day to day and week by week. Everytime there is a run, and there always will be runs, then people suggest all sorts of changes. The problem is opinion changes are worthless. I need people who will post changes based on hard data not on their opinions. The basics of this system have been done by me for years and changing them based on the market not operating to our best interest is foolish. Sorry I just cant take over at this point. The good news is we have had two people show interest in teaching in my school this weekend and we are now going through the interview process. This takes weeks but at least we have some people in the pipeline. Meanwhile my day goes like this 730 am arrive at school, 810 greet the kids, Chinese teacher takes over at 230. University class starts at 300 over at 500. Evening class two days a week starts at 730 and goes to 930-1000PM. You add to that that I have meetings, judging contests, etc. something had to give and unfortunately this was one of them. Will take control again when I am able, until then, the system works, and I am live testing adjustments for the USA traders. Until I post changes on page 1 post 1 the systems stays the same. Sorry but life does not always go as planned.

I understand how you feel. I just closed out all my runners from the past 3 weeks to be. I now have my original 3% gain.

It was a great confidence builder in the system but I will alson stick to primary trades in the near future. I am still uneasy with the recovery method because the potential risk is high. I have noticed that I am more comfortable with a stop loss and any loss suffered can be overcome by reentering at a better level. It is a matter of preference and a traditional stop loss satisfies my need.

I second that!

As I wrote 3 years ago in another forex forum (not going there anymore... too many dimwits) it is a well known phenomenon:

- There is a brilliant head trading and fine tuning a system for years.
- Then he decides to open a thread to give some to the public
- Then either he gots bashed or...
- There are 100 posters trying to make additions to improve

- After 100 - 500 pages the originator of the thread is not posting anymore because he doesn't even recognize his own system anymore due to 185763457 changes and 483624 indicators added.

- The thread dies and the originator probably is happy still trading the system from post #1.

Conclusion:
It's OK to try to improve some flaws... after serious and longterm tests, but it's better to read and download post #1 of whatsoever thread and forget the rest!

Happy trading!

It start boil inside me when I read your post.
Warren Buffet started without indicators and traded only long terms. Why have you left that state. Should not everybody have continued like him. Do you still use the old 386 as your computer. Of course, no idea upgrade. It worked in the past so it will work now.

Bay the way, why are you interested and involved in Steve's new tread???

No buddy, that wasn't a personalized post... just a general observation made after 5 years of forex forums.

But I can give you an example: see the bot of max in the other thread of steve?
Max is doing a great job, nicely coded... works maybe pretty good!
But is it still the bot trading Bob's system? Nope!
It's including trendlines, Trix, KG etc.... so basically something completely different.
And is Bob trading this? Nope... he sticks to the system working for him since years! And right he is. Improvements - if there are - needs to be tested thoroughly before included in a working system, right?

That's all I said!

No bad feelings...

Hi

Bob is genius and he deserves as much praise and thanks as we can give him. The system is fantastic. Recently we had one of the best months of trading in August. In September the markets went a bit haywire coupled with less caution on part of most traders (Over confidence) and we were punished by the market.

For the last 10 days I am trading the system (original system with no new changes) with extreme caution, resulting in no losing trade coupled with less profit. IMHO for the time being if traders stick to trading primary trades, above the gold lines with an eye on the news profits will start flowing. It will not be a 1000 pips a week but still a decent return with 200 to 300 pips profit.

Kind Regards
