careful folks, the weekly supply is a very large level, I'd only be looking for the very best smaller time frame levels to go short with a very good risk:reward.

Hi BB,

Been trading these levels for about a year now, and before I was trading Ross Hooks (Traders Tricks) which was good for the lower time frames. Again, a trend trading method but with less probability per trade. It was a case of maybe 3 out of 10 trades that hit a decent profit. But thats the beauty of all trend trading methods, testing the market to hit a good runner. Before that I tried fibs and trendlines and all the rest of it. It was very easy for me to trade with Sam's levels as I had previously thrown away all the indicator junk when I moved onto the Joe Ross method.

When I first started using supply and demand levels I drew them up on the 1h and 4H and zoomed into a much lower time frame to wait for a candle pattern or a traders trick entry at that level and I still sometimes do that for a confirmation entry (i.e weaker level), especially at higher time frame turning points. The only problem with that if the level reacts strongly then you increase your risk and reduce your profit potential. But weaker levels usually react more slowly when price returns so you can usually get your lower time frame candle pattern signal within the zone.

I hope you got out with some quick profit. Although price broke away from that level quite strongly before we did have price hanging around that level for a few days previously which made it a weaker level. And also the dominant trend prevailed strongly as we are not quite into the weekly supply area just yet.

agreed Sir, let's always take the trend into consideration.

the $ index is heading towards 79. we still have a few hours left til the week ends, but looks like 80.00 wont hold. terrible for the $, imho
77.00/78.00 seems like the next level.

hmmm. ok I think I need to explain better. By looking at daily demand/supply on the $ index I can look for potential turning points in relation to lower time frame supply/demand on GU, EU etc. I don't think it is necessary to compare time frame $ index with $ pairings. Trading supply and demand is trading tops an bottoms. Those tops and bottoms could be just corrections. It doesn't matter, its still supply and demand - high probability-low risk. If it doesn't work, I don't care. Most of them will work and my MM will cover my losses. I hope you have managed to take in the Seiden resources -there is a mountain of them but it will shift your thinking greatly.

Hi Rob,

Nice thread you have here discussing subtle concepts that always seemed too simple when I was first exposed to them, but now are clearly the way forward as regards "reading" the charts with the bare minimum of indicators attached.

We had some small bounces yesterday off 5785 and then later on at 5811 which were good for small intra day profits. Today, am looking at the 720 area for GU for the next launch long and the 3320 area for euro. If you are trading both at the same time then be careful not over expose your risk due to the $ correlation.

At one point I searched the net for support info on the odds enhancers.

I combined the info found to create:

Description of the probability enhancers
Picture of enhancers 1,2, and 4
Spreadsheet built as shown in material found
(with descriptions in as comments)

All in OpenOffice format. The pictures are clearer than those referred to in the original post. Some may find this useful. Sam's material works well.

We never know which supply and demand zones will cause reversals, but we should be aware of the possibilities.

Here's one possibility that worked out well this morning.

you are right, i got out too soon on that trade. The news gave it good momentum. As per odds enhancers, second touch still has some good probability but less than first touch. All depends whether you are prepared to risk a lower potential reward compared to risk. But in a strong up trend it seems you are more likely to get a good runner past the first profit area.

Rob, if you go through the odds enhancers that demand level isn't strong at all. Ideally we look for the strong momentum coming out of the origin of the move not before it. However, and this is where it could get interesting, in a strong up trend as we have on the GU, these lower scoring levels could be higher probability. Well worth doing some back referencing - something to add to our arsenal. Will see if there is a pattern with this and let you know. Ideally though Seiden recommends scanning lots of charts/markets (pref non correlated) and pick out the best trades.
