I am in the trade After a news burst a retracement is usually a good trade. Like last weeks JPY burst. Got some nice pips on the retracement later in the week.

As I said at first, I realized this suggestion might be off topic, and I am more than happy to have you shut me down since that's what you want. It's your thread and I appreciate everything you have shared..

When I do have the data to support one of my ideas, if I've gotten it on my own, I doubt whether I would share it. I'm not as nice as you are.

To my surprise, however, it appears that I must come across as an incredible asshole. I've read all of this thread and your last, and I have some appreciation for how far someone has to go to earn your ire. Please accept my apology.

1. I am able to be profitable at it
2. It fills my need to "be in a trade"
3. It is simple to understand
4. the recovery is genius
5. you nice folks are willing to help all traders
6. Bob or Steve are not asking any of us to pay him $129/month for classes.
7. Even though price has been trending this week I have profited 145 pips
8. from the update today here is a #7 loaded for a buy
9. MPTM for when I am not sitting in front of my computer
10. I can sleep now...

you've got bob all wrong. he's not like that at all. you just got to roll with it.

it's just a communication style.

anyways, yes, your 120 tp and 40 sl in the market these couple of days would have worked.

however, with huggies, sometimes they mean nothing. especially when the tide turns in your favour.

just weeks ago, i felt just like you, with all my crazy ideas. this system enters at extreme oversold/bought, and look for any retrace within the next 5->600 pips. this retrace can happen immediately upon entry, or later, in the range. you can do whatever you like with the additional lots, 1.2.4, 1.1.3.3, hell even do 1.1.1.1 if you want. the main point is the philosophy behind it, not the mathematical specifics. that's it in a nutshell. and it works.

I'm finally out of my Aud. pairs today with the retrace. Was tired of paying swap and with the Oct. mandate looming, I didn't want to be stuck with open trades. It set my balance back a few weeks but my account is still alive and well. I have a letter sent to Barney Frank for reimbursement but not holding my breath on that one.

I loaded the #5 sell ea onto my eu chart and on a different eu loaded the MPTM 40/30. I just got out of bed and there were 2 entries and 2 +30 pip trades in my acct history...so I made 60 pips while I was sleeping!http://i688.photobucket.com/albums/v...ronaut/9-6.gif

Ive got a question on the recovery systems. From reading the explanations in the various .PDF documents I found it doesnt make much sense to me the way they are explained.

2.4.2 recovery method:
This is what I would think 242 method means:
With this method one would think if trading .01 lots the levels would equal:
L1 = .01 = 2
L2 = .02 = 4
L3 = .01 = 2
When L4 is reached it would be L4 = .02, and if L5 then L5 = .01

This is how I interpreted the readings of what 242 actually is:
From the readings I read I am supposed to multiply the lot by 1.6
so it would equal:
L1 = .01 = 2
L2 = .02 rounding up = 4
L3 = .03 rounding down = 6

with this method when I reach L4 if I close out my first trade of .01 and place a new trade at L4 it would be L4 = .05??? or would i go back down to L4 = .01
I cant imagine this would be true because it would be Martingale


1.1.3.3 Recovery Method:
With this method I am unsure what to do at level 4.

The reading says that at level 4 you close level one and start over with level 2 being your level 1.

Well if I am to start over level 2 cant possibly be my level one because then level 2 would = 3 and not 1. So is 1.1.3.3 now supposed to be 1.3.3.1? and then at level 5 be 3.3.1.1?

I know it is probably extreme that these recovery systems will ever reach these levels but I need to play the devils advocate and ask what if...

Lucky dog, looks good. I think that most people are in drawdown so we didn't get your good fortune...

Did you hit that top perfectly or what? Or are you doing the 1.1.3.3?

I am still a bit out, curious..

Yes, that is the only EA that will do that. It will always enter as long as price is below the 3MA line. That is what our old system did and we were quite profitable with it. However, you can end up with trades in the middle of the screen if you kept going so at some point you want to turn that EA off.

I have 2 demo accts open. 1 is in DD and the other I was using manual entries and trying to figure out the trade management ea's. the 2nd one had no trades running because I had got it working with the help from here. So I loaded the #5 and 40/30 and wow...more potential than I imagined!

So I have the benefit of keeping my losses low and L3 and L4 retracements return to 0 more quickly. I have never gone to L5 with the 1.1.3.3 so I really dont know what I would do. But probably increase it some to 4 or 5. I guess it would depend on the currency and what I thought the market was doing. I have done some 4 on L4 so they have been 1.1.3.4 and that has worked well too. So never having to take that big loss on the l3 and l4 trades but getting to use them to recover quickly has been really really good to me. I probably would not use the 2.4.2 method anymore I like the results of the 1.1.3.3 much better.

Again the whole purpose of the recovery method is to minumize losses as much as possible but not committing the dangerous act of committing your account to a losing situation. I have really taken some lumps the last 7 days but I am in no danger of damaging my account. I have lost most of my profit for the month and if this keeps up I will definitely take a loss this month but you know I cant expect a perfect world. The good news is starting yesterday and finally today I am back to taking profit trades which is a good sign. The market looks like it may take a rest which gives me a chance to catch up. I used to love Thurdays because I loved calling it reversal day and this looks like it may be the start of the normal reversal pattern I love so much. Price builds and builds and then on Thursday we see some double tops or bottoms and then Friday retracements. Time for some of these guys to cash out their profits and for us to cash in on our reversals.
