Yeah - hove an eye on gold too. Have bought some physical Gold 2 years ago.
Of course I'm dancing with my lady.
And I was "reckless" enough to riode the move down into the twenties.
Then switched to the long side ...
Business as usual I would say.
Can't await the FOMC decision tonight.

Thinking about setting up a virtual trading room.
Guess it would be very intersting to see your fellow dancers trading live and giving comments about their thoughts ...

Keeping this in mind, and knowing all the problems in understanding this way of trading respectively feeling the market, that should be a valuable approach ...

A book I am currently reading which includes also an interview with a currency specialist who gives a great (even a bit alternative) insight on money markets... I am still very surprised how this book gets better with each page. And a must read for anyone interested in macro econ stuff.

There was a member on this website Kris Matthews who ran a blog gestaltshift and I found it interesting the currency trader used this term as well.
I like the term because really the currency market is driven by sentiment and sentiment alone. Not the fundamentals, not the technicals but rather what broad sentiment. As Keynes said Irrationality can be an extremely powerful driving force haha.
Also a quote from the book which is particularly relevant to this thread:
"Markets are just a compilation of information we know and information extrapolated from information we think we know(this is what leads to pricing in<-my addition here).As such,the collective knowledge of a group of people is always higher than the individualparts(the masses are powerful until the turning points), even recognizing for experts. Price action tends to confirm that, and price action never lies."
As I continue to hone my skills using what FTI taught I'm finding PA can fib
but usually it doesn't flat out lie. But I find reading the news and keeping updated on current market sentiment very helpful(got my routine from Mamood's postings haha)

And to either get out when he perceives a market sentiment shift or try to take advantage of it.

The person with the biggest capital and the biggest balls turns the masses. The leader(s) reassert their position and the capital flow stops in one direction and turns to another direction. The guys with less capital then switch their position and follow the leader(next trend) resumes. And the small speculators from your friendly neighborhood market marker continue on their confused way.
But really it doesn't matter who or what turns the market. The job of the trader is to try to keep aware of current market sentiment and float along with it.

I love FTI's "Wisdom of the ships" ...
if anything complicated - Music is a system of pulses of a given frequency fitted into a specific time reference. i.e., so many notes sounded within a measure (of time). This would result in a long cycle modulated with intermittent higher frequency tones. This appears to be especially true in the case of triplets (three tones sounded where two are timed for) ...
