The vbscript is run outside MT4 just from your Windows command prompt it interacts between the automatic history export files and your Excel spreadsheet. I'm writing some code at the moment that'll use the data from the MT4 automatic history file export. What I'm doing is using the 60 min for the high and low of the day (highest high / lowest low), the 1 min is used to display the latest closing price it's possible we can use the Tick chart to display tick data in Excel.
The script is still in progress as I'm currently writing the code for a trading system that automatically pulls out the data then apply formulas (this used to be entered manually e.g. high, low of end of day then the close price at 10.00pm). I'm just writing the code to monitor live prices then update when orders are triggered and closed displayed in Excel, at the end of the day exports the results of the trading day into another Excel spreadsheet. Useful to test live a system.
Once I've finished that project I'll post a VBS file that on here that'll be useful for using these auto generated history files to automatically view in Excel the daily High, Low, Close and the latest closing price from the 1 min chart. I think there are other ways to do this by the way because with these auto exported history files you can use VBA code directly from your spreadsheet. Trouble is I'm not that familiar with VBA but use VBscripts a lot as they interface with most applications. Please bear with me though as I'm quite busy at the moment.
