London currently opens at 07:00 GMT.

 

  1. Go to http://wwp.greenwichmeantime.com/
  2. When the clock on the page above says 07:00, The current time in your MT4 charts is the London open. Set that time as the London open in your indicators.
  3. Repeat for the other times you use or calculate the other times from that.

I have no idea what you are doing. You could try restarting with a clean copy of the latest M15-swinger template.

Xi-Sessions draws the asian session open, close and channel.
Xi-VLines draws any other open/close lines one wants. The lines can be set to draw on the hour or in the bar before the hour bar.

There are descriptions of the input parameters in the source code files.
Open up the *.mq4 file in notepad to view them.

hi xaphod,
i am back to square one.
i keep modifying the indicators and they revert back to the old numbers.
i tried right clicking on the indicator in the custom ind. and then right clicking and clicking on modify- nothing comes up.
when i click on macd for example, the meta editor comes up, nothing when i click on the indicator you sent... i am lost, ran out of things to do... anxiously waiting for help. if anyone knows what to do to change these indicators please help.

i didn't notice you answered my previous posts.
i downloaded the M15 Swinger V1.1zip, and loaded the ind from there.
as far as the time conversions i worked that out .
its just getting the time changes i am making to stick.
how do i do the following: Open up the *.mq4 file in notepad to view them.
i have been changing them from the indicator list i bring down from the chart.

wow!! what an adventure...but it is all worked out and the chart looks good. i see why the tokyo channel works so well.
i downloaded the wrong one of the two indicators you sent, did it in both cases, generally the way things work for me.
but it was worth it. i learned so much about the meta editor and so much more. its good making mistakes, its how i learn.

this is a very good application that shows, in a very easy to understand way, the different market hours and is easily changed to any time frame.
i set it to GMTand was able to finally figure out the time problem i was having.

how do you actually manipulate vlines? If i want to put a london open for example how do I do it? I see that it is black in color

Wow!--amazing to see how many posts on people figuring out how and where to place the lines to get the right positions. This is the #1 question I have answered over the course of this thread and in the Skype room. It's very simple actually...you first need to determine what time zone your broker draws its new day M15 candle. If your broker starts the new day at 21:00 gmt, then everything will be easier. I use several MT4 brokers and they don't all start the new day at 21:00gmt, so I have to manually adjust them. Once you are able to tell where 21:00 gmt is, you can start at the beginning and work your way through all the rest of the vertical lines to be placed at the right places. The TC (Tokyo Channel) starts at 21:00 gmt.

Neo, the asian session indicator from the template m15 automatically put itself on my mt4 ibfx on the 2300 gmt bar. Understand i should move that to 2100 gmt?

Also I just tried to move the londen v line which was at 0245gmt to 0700gmt and the words "london open" would not move to the new vline location. Any ideas?

Yes. That depends on if daylight savings time is in effect or not.

The time in your charts is not necessarily GMT. You need to verify what the time difference is between your chart/broker and GMT, and adjust the indicator time settings accordingly. Reread these posts:

If you are talking about the very first line of the day (beginning of the TC), then yes...it should be at 21:00gmt. Once you get that first line in the right place...the others will be a breeze.

Right...as Xaphod pointed out, it jumps back and forth between 22:00gmt and 21:00gmt depending on Daylight Savings.

Xaphod and neo hanks for responding. I am double clicking the vline at london open to move it dragging and dropping at new time. The "london open" wont drag with it.
