maybe they're using off chart information or their charts are full of indicators. I really don't know what most of the profitable traders are doing and neither do you.

bwaahahaha good point. The BOJ actually intervened to weaken the yen today though, which would be good for anyone using that as their funding currency.

But the Yen is old school. I use the USD as my funding currency because this allows me to partially or completely cover my "short" with my own home currency. This eliminates the risk of my covering funds losing their buyback power due to adverse fluctuations against my home currency; it IS my home currency.

Basically it's like trading junk bonds on leverage with low transaction fees and extremely high granularity (I use Oanda).

i have learned that i can not look at a chart for months, decide to open up mt4 strategy tester with vhands, backtest a strategy on a random set of days from a few months ago.... very very easily more than double the account over those few random days... set the backtest days to this week trying the same strategy and slowly bleed the virtual account to death.

trends are not my friend. they are deceivers of backtests.

It's interesting how everything is twisted around, ever consider I've been in this game a lot longer than you and I'm just a lot smarter than you ?? Well ofcourse not, but consider it from time to time and apply that logic to everyone else then maybe you'll learn something.

Well clearly high intelligence is not the driving factor towards determining who is successful and who is not. Turveyd has told us he is way smarter than the rest of us, and yet he has been slogging away at this for 4 years and is not profitable.

Now what we need is someone on the opposite end of the intelligence spectrum to one admit that they are an idiot and then to tell us if they are profitable or not. Anyone?

But I've been profitable before ( Stocks then Options ) so the odds are in my favour I'll be long term profitable again, I doubt the same could be said for more than a handful on this entire site.

I know you disagree cause you still believe indicators are physic and actually see the future which is what they need to be to actually work, yes indicators can help paint the picture to give you a feel from the current direction.

I think it represents the flaw in our measurement of intelligence. Sure, being a genius doesn't guarantee being a successful trader, but I can't imagine a great trader not being highly intelligent.

IQ is more of a measurement at how good you are at taking IQ Tests!!

Aren't your magical moving averages on the 10 second charts indicators too, mr I am smarter than the rest of you but still not profitable, but still can't figure out that an MA is an indicator. I think you need to look at your own systems first before you start casting aspersions toward others.
