Futures and spot/cash move in the same way pip for pip, there might be a difference because of the cost of finance (interest)of the forward contract, if you trade fast TF'S and scalp, futures are a great instrument to use IF you're only interested in the majors, because anything else doesn't have the liquidity.
Plus as a bonus you can trade the E-MINI's if bored with currencies, most futures brokers can offer you those as well.
In theory trading futures should be cheaper IMO, the spread is tighter and commisions can be tiny if you trade volume, the MM's do advertise tight spread, but how do you know you are actualy getting the tight spread?
the amount of tricks that can be played are countless i'm sure
Go to CME Globex and have a look.
