Today is moon declination day. It is just happening on low volume, so maybe its a dull one this time.

The name is 'Astroelite for MT4'. It has been available as freeware in March-April 2010. Then vendor stopped distribution and there is only an old version that shows past data only exists. A developer website name is a part of indicator name and installation guide is on their forum.

I know, thats mainly because I made it up .

Let me ask you something: Why are you putting so much time and effort into disproving these theories?
You took the effort to register for an astrology software package, downloaded and researched MT4 indicators, so what drives this?

Other question: Did you find anything that does work?

The problem is that most people see something but don't know how to apply it. The moon declination cycle, even the one you are showing, clearly works (indeed not al the time) if you know how to apply it.

If you don't know what you are supposed to be looking for, then it may indeed seem that it doesn't work.

Astro trading is no holy grail. There is no 100% sure win method. Gann lost many trades.
But at the end of the day it is about high probability, increasing your chances to win a trade. Finding a direction is only one part of that. Setting an entry/stop/exit is equally or even more important.

You can find direction in many different ways, combining some methods may increase your chances. You can make great money if you know how to trade with any system, or no system and vice versa you can have the best system yet not make any money because you're a spaz of a trader.

I can tell you that most major banks are applying astro in their trading, and eventhough their methods of trading with it are far from ideal, they still find that it is more profitable.

Hi, Benf. Look at this chart you posted, and the other one with those pretty astro aspect indicators on. Each turning point on the indicator (top, bottom or crossing the middle line) and the astro aspect signs clearly coincides with a change of direction of price actions.

If I may guess, I would guess that your frustration or distrust comes from your expectation to see a fully developed trend from top to bottom or bottom to top from one indicator signal to other. Unfortunately that would not be the case. Such astro events may help push price to go counter trend (depending on whether it's rallying up or declining towards a signal point) or push price out of a congestion, but not necessarily a full-flung long glide up or down.

So, if you can try to exploit this little advantage, that could be quite useful in trading, right. I don't think one can rely entirely on astro events. As always, it has to be combined with other old-fashioned technical systems. It is only used to signal a time for potential change, but no-one ever said that price actions will go one way and one direction from one signal all the way to the next signal in one straight line! It's all about finding a bit more edge to help one's trading.

I couldn't find any installation instruction on the website. Would you be so kind to provide a direct link to the installation guide, or explain how you got it work on your MT4 charts. I did some fiddling on my PC and have not managed to get it work.

The files need to go in the MT4 root directory. The indicator goes under "experts/indicators".
There is an access database (easy to convert those excel spreadsheets to access) that contains the positions of the planets.
The database end on may 31 though, so you would have to update the database.
I have to figure out exactly by I would not put all the small aspects in such as moon etc. Big turns maybe interesting.

Thanks. Do you know where I can find those detailed astronomical data, with hours_minutes and lattitudes? Usual Ephemeris has only longitudes? And what are 'typ' and 'ocen'?

Edit: And, what is its planet 0? In its config file it lists 9 planets. But it has 10 in planet numbers instead of 9, and I compared it with Swiss Ephemeris, it appears that the number shifted backward for 1 step. e.g., on SE planet 5 is planet 6 in the database. So intead of 9 planets, it has 10. But what is that planet 0? On 24/5, planet 0 in the database is at Sag.3 at 17:03, but in SE there is nothing in Saggitarius on that date.

Also, it appears the time used in the database is GMT-8 by the look of it, so that's Pacific time. hmmmmm... that's a bit unusuall in time keeping. Ilovepippin, did you manage to open the code to look at more details?

TheArcher, just eyeball it. If you can't see it, there is little others can do to help. Lot of things in chart reading is about recognising patterns. If you really struggle, just stare at charts for a while, until it pops out at you.

just marking the points will be helpful .... kicking off our pattern recoginition ...

(just save the image, and dot or cross or arrow the pic with paint ,or whatever software, and just upload .... this will really help us a lot .. a picture is worth a thousand words .... please ... thanks )

My goal was warning you and others (gullible) traders against trusting all those 'financial' astrologers'. I spent much time and money for studying those things but didn't find anything that might help me in making money with trading.

If you found something that other people, including me, don't see, that's wonderful and I really wish you a good luck in applying those geo-cosmic phenomena in you trading.

I'll not spoil your thread anymore.

Aha, those are the questions we need to get answered!
And no, I did not see the code. You would need to hack it as it is a compiled version that was posted.

You need to look at counter-trend action at the time of the aspects.
