Final question for the day and it regards economic news releases.

What if you see a classic setup which comes about 20 minutes before a news release?

Do you take it, thinking that the currency is rising/falling in anticipation of the news

or

Do you steer clear and wait for another entry point when the dust has settled

or

Do you place orders at strategic points above or below the current price thinking that if the news takes the price further in its current direction you can pick up some of the action?

If we see the 2b pattern, classic 123, M, or W in M5. We need to confirm to M15 or H1 candle ? If M15 show the shooting candle. We can enter the trade.

Or we just find 2b pattern in M5 only and we can enter the trade ?

If its the biggest news releases NFP, int rates, GBP monetary policy minutes I'd always steer clear.

I have taken, and seen others take, solid trades 20 mins or so before news with no problems. We are looking to take more trades before news if the set up is right. If I'm in a trade we would look to bank some and have stop at BE in case it goes against us.

I always like to see some supporting info from 15 min, perhaps vol falling away, double top, hammer/shooting star etc etc.

See trade 1 on first post. If its one of trades you mention at extreme, at key level you don't need the 1hr to signal.

Here you go, Steve. I did find the indi here on FF, but admittedly it wasn't easy. There are precious few sources of info here on it. Just put the indicator in your EXPERTS folder and then follow the directions from Musashi a few pages back to get it running. Worked for me by following his instructions.

Just make sure you load it up on a normal live chart first, and then open the offline chart once you've got the settings you want. That's where I went wrong initially. The m1 chart will feed the data to the offline R7, R15 or R25 chart.
