Almost choked on my coffee. We discussed exit at 25. Mrs V said let it run, , todays pa run, ha, its let it crawl agonisingly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No I have googled it a few times and searched FF medici is posting alot about it thought but you have probably seen that.

I closed my other half now 20pips all together had a bad day yesterday so am glad I banked some. Might not be so glad in a minute though!

Be nice to see it breakout of the hourly range today there have been lots of good trades off the top and bottom of it this week.
Hopefully break the 500 and fall to 450 level my weekly S1 is there might be a good target if we do breakout hopefully I'll get a chance to get back in.

I'll still be watching for a turn around here to take price back up to the high of the range I'm not going to let myself get stuck in short mode.

Think you might have picked the wrong pair today. The action is elsewhere.

Edit: Oh, forgot to point it out but a major reason for looking at a short at the pivot was the high volume 15min candle that showed a lot of sellers coming in. Because of that candle I was more than happy to hold through the choppy mess that followed and would also have been fine if we broke above because I expected the sellers would come in again if that happened.

Idiots guide to trading, give you one guess who is the idiot here. EJ had run too far to start messing with it now so the gu focus continued.

GU had a 15 min doji and then a lower (but still decent) vol hammer. That was immediately rejected with this higher vol 5 min lower close.

What to do. Mrs V said its on the low with the 15 min hammers, so no trade. My reaction was one of fave set ups. A lack of a reaction = more of move. Price hit Y's low at 5508 and only bounced 20 pips with an immediate 5 min higher vol move lower, see arrow down.

Our indecision meant we missed a 50 pip move down in about 2 mins.

Said it before I'll say it again. A weak bounce from a key area = more in move, in this case downside.

Not happy but at least up for day which is a heck of a lot better than not happy and down.

I'm not happy either I would normally have taken the trade posted but didn't do it as didn't want to give pips back bad trading decision.
If I had done it I am not sure if I would have been scared out a bit before the entry you posted.
I like to think I wouldn't have been out but I can't read the PA as well as you and probably would have closed and not been quick enough to get back in.

I am starting to think after 8.30ish when it looks like its about to take a direction and I am pretty sure of the direction from larger TFs I will leave my original position at BE or full stop.
because the risk on a 15pip stop is really good when your reward is anything between 50-100.

something I am going ot have to think about over the weekend. I think it will suit me aswell because PA can scare me out alot of the time but if I just tell myself its either -15 or +whatever my target is then I should be fine even if I only get the direction right 50% of the time because winners will be so much bigger than losers and most of the time it will be safe to have stops at BE anyway.

what do you think V?

Very nice analysis as always reflex. I think as we all continue to trade these setups hopefully we will get better at them, and at catching the bigger moves too. Not very technical I know but for now I am extremely happy at getting regular relatively low risk daily pips and very thankful for all the effort from Dave and contributers here and over on Medicis thread.

We are still a little nervous of Aug vol's however the goal definitely is (as per 1st post) to trade this way from next month. OK up to 9am gmt to bank at key levels. After 9 gmt when the LO head fake has reared its lovely head, you then pretty much KNOW the direction of the 125 pip move. The idea (for us) will be to take partial exits at psych levels, letting bal run PLUS entering new positions on next move.

Fingers crossed that this will work, there's no reason it shouldn't.

Cheers jag I find my profits have been getting bigger over the last couple of weeks as I have been letting them run to targets on the 1hour.

Only problem today was price was at the low of the hours range and made me nervous but I spose as we were looking like we were going short a risk of 15 or BE was worth it.

Always find it mentally hard on a friday to trade as I hate giving away pips knowing I have to wait two more days to try and make them back haha.

But each week still gets better for me as I learn more and just get used the the setups that happen everyday and I'm also happy with regular pips until I'm good enough to sit through pullbacks and sideways movement knowing that target a good % of the time will be hit.

Yep only another week or so left of august then we should be able to get 100pip runners everyday haha!! I have come from Break even most weeks to profitable every week for 4 weeks now and have been tarding purely LH and HLs for 8 weeks know so 1st month while I was learning was BE and now strating to end each week with nice pips so hopefully my trading can only get better.

1 month finding the legs, next month profitable. When you consider that this is learning a trading method as opposed to 3 indi's say go (and wondering why thats not working) thats actually great news and quite impressive.

Thanks its amazing what finding two great threads and studying them everyday can do.

I read Islander and medici's thread when I was really new to trading and couldn't make much sense of it at 1st. Once it made some sense still wasn't sure how to enter and exit on what I had learned there then I found your thread and all fell together using what I learnt there and your LH/HL entrys and bigger TF analysis and lots of the PA setups you posted for us all to learn from.

Now I feel I understand everything everyone posts on both threads feels good. So thanks Vantage and eveyone that posts here and on islander and medici's thread.

Just wanted to throw out a conragts to the folks here.

It is impressive to me that after nearly 2 years the heart of this system is still in nearly its purist form. There are no EA's that have taken over, there was no addition of multiple indicators to filter this or that, there is no bitching and moaning about the trades and rusults etc...

Vantage you have done a great job at not only keeping this system pure but also helping many traders along the way. And to the thread contributors Kudos to you as well for saking the right questions, taking up the time to learn what is being shown here and applying it to it's fullest.

So many new traders come along and place all their fait into indicators, never learning how to read proce action and what the market is telling you. I have said it before and I will say it again, Price Action rules the charts and any indicators you use should only be a secondary confirmation of that which you are seeing price do on your charts.

This thread exemplifies that to the fullest!

Nice post Trader V, and I agree Dave ( and Mrs V ) have done a great job here, lets hope it stays as good for a long while.
