Nice day, I wish the aud/nzd would get with the program. You could move or do something. Got rid of some DD sitting good except for the aud/nzd.

I will divide currency pairs into four major groups based on their percentage of times they will move over 300 pips in one week. Here are the 4 groups:

1.VERY VOLATILE GROUP: THEY WILL MOVE OVER 300 PIPS IN ONE WEEK MORE THAN 75% OF THE TIME.
a. GBP/NZD, EUR/NZD, GBP/AUD, GBP/CAD, GBP/JPY
b. This group if you trade them you will want to use a reentery of 250 pips plus. This will be explained later in the 2.4.2 recovery system.
2.VOLATILE GROUP: THEY WILL MOVE OVER 300 PIPS IN ONE WEEK MORE THAN 50% OF THE TIME
a.GBP/CHF, CAD/JPY, EUR/CAD, EUR/AUD, USD/CHF, GBP/USD, EUR/JPY
b. This group if you trade them you will want to use a reentery of 200 pips.
3.MEDIUM VOLATILE GROUP: THEY WILL MOVE OVER 300 PIPS IN ONE WEEK MORE THAN 25% OF THE TIME.
a. NZD/JPY, AUD/CHF, AUD/JPY, USD/JPY, EUR/USD, NZD/CHF, CAD/CHF,
b. This group if you trade them you will want to use a reentry of 150-200 pips.
4. LOW VOLATILITY GROUP: THEY WILL MOVE OVER 300 PIPS IN ONE WEEK LESS THAN 25% OF THE TIME.
a. AUD/NZD, NZD/USD, CHF/JPY, AUD/CAD, USD/CAD, NZD/CAD, AUD/USD, EUR/CHF, EUR/GBP

I understand that your strategy is primarily based on taking trades when price is above or below the 6ths gold lines back to the centre, however, do you ever take trades that are between the green & gold lines back to the outer edges if price is near an outer BB?

Yes especially the slower currencies or if you know the fundamentals of the currency are with the trade. So you picked up the retracement but you know the fundamentals are bad on a currency right now so you decide to go with the trend. I dont do it often but some of you guys have a lot better understanding of fundamentals than I do so with my system you want to enter. The 1x3 #5 EA is perfect for that or the old 6x6 we used to use. Put on the MPTM and set it for the #5 magic number and go with it. I dont always trade my system, I do take other kinds of trades if I think there is a reason too. However so as not to confuse people I dont talk about them. This thread is for 5.0 series trades. You also must understand that the 2.4.2 recovery system works well because you are already taking trades nearing their exhaustion levels. If you take trades outside of the overbought/oversold area you may get a bigger run against you than the norm so you probably would be better off putting up a stop loss somewhere rather than trying to counter your way out of trouble. OR you set a different standard and use larger reentrance areas OR maybe go two levels deep instead of three like I do. In other words you go for 1 or 2 retracements and then close out instead of taking a big hit. So those things are based on your trading skill. But to simply answer your question, the middle and slower ranging currencies I do that all the time. I never take gbp/nzd trades inside the gold lines but chf/jpy, aud/cad, eur/chf, I do those very often.

I'm not sure if I made the right decision; I just closed L3 and L1 of my AUDNZD to breakeven the L1 and L3 only because I do not know until when this pair will continue to go down. Now my L2 become the new L1.

Thats too bad, the currency pair is finally taking a dive after floating in the same area for a few days.

great system! it seems to be very profitable...

but i even got some problems with the handling of it...
you can trade all pairs of forex with it? or just the EUR/USD?
And i don't get the EA's....i have to look alle 2-3 hours into MT4 to make a decision which EA i gonna use?
So it doesn't work 100 % automatically?

Sorry for ''wasting'' ur time mate....

Yes that is exactly the right thing to do. You are trying to do two things. Pocket your profits, 0 out your DD. You have just completed a very successful DD to 0 trade. That is exactly what I try to teach. Look at it this way all the other gurus would have had you taking a loss. You didnt and you kept your profits. Once you understand this principal trading becomes fairly stress free and enjoyable. I never look for profit on L3 vs L1 trades. I want out at 0 or as close as I can. I already closed out earlier and I was too early but what the hey I have kept this:

That number above me is what I dont want to lose not the single trade you are talking about. If the aud/nzd drops another 1000 pips it does not matter to you. You are out of a normal losing trade at 0. Go out and celebrate being a successful trader. You is becoming one.

Now you have a new L1. You get to plan your L2 reentry to get rid of it. You will feel very successful and confident once you do it. Then you do it again and again and then you get like me and get over confident and the Forex market will make you eat your lunch a couple of times to bring your humility back up again.
