OK enough of this missed a nice hl on gu after decent vol 15 min hammer. 25 pips is 25 pips.

Gu had 2 hammers on improved vol (15 min) any failure to break above 5600 may give sell opp.

could be a pull back on the cards here...

GU 15R chart.

Lots of resistance ahead not a good trade for me.

The 2B principle gets its power from the large number of stop-loss orders in the area of the X. Many traders who bought the breakout will have their stop-loss orders there, so if prices fall below the blue line those stops will be hit, driving prices back down with thrust. If you enter a short as the breakout traders are bailing out of their positions, the burst of selling can propel your trade into the green so quickly that, before you can enter your stop-loss order, prices have moved far enough in your favor to set your initial stop-loss at break even. The inverse is equally effective for 2B bottoms.
Another name for the 2B is "spring." Imagine the blue line in the graphic as a rubber band. The bigger the poke above the blue line, the stronger the reversal potential if the breakout fails. This same principle works on failed triangle breakouts and failed trendline breakouts. If you were unfortunate and bought the breakout, instead of putting just a stop loss at the X, consider making it a stop-and-reverse. This pattern occurs at the tops and bottoms of consolidations as well as at major reversals.

That's it as I understand it, take out stops, bring in orders and then reverse fast.

In this instance they took out the low of the previous H1 candle, 109.32 (safe stops and possible short orders below there) then reversed it long.

These H/L patterns are quite effective. I didn't think it would play out... but it seems to of reached target.

The problem with these patterns is always the exit area.

Hi All I have been lurking around here for the longest time and have learned a lot Thank you. Very recently my interest was sparked wen range candles came up here. I also trade very similar method but I use renko charts (see attached image) with current renko 4pip bars on GU and 5 pip bars on EJ my stops rarely exceed 20-25 pips also picture is very clear in many cases entries are presized. I use MACD for div's and it is quite accurate on renko I am also observing volumes on renko in many cases if there is ultra high volume on one one renko bar the area could become S/R in the future also if renko is racing away and volume died suddenly be ready to bail out. Sorry if I am bearing away here but DT/DB, HL/LH is applicable to any charts.

Welcome then.

I was wondering how to use vol on a candle with variable time frame, but for that I'll stick with vol on 5/15 mins I think.

Was interesting to see yet again how fxpro live vol was spot on with Malcb's vol on a eur 15 min trade he posted a short while ago.

I got a pm saying that the constant range bar expert posted here is a paid for product ie someones coyright. 2 guys haven't posted their versions knowing this. The version on the thread has different set up pages from those posted by Musashi so it might be a copy.

Anyway I wouldn't like to knowingly mess with someones copyright so if you know for a fact that the expert posted here is a copyright product I'll take off first post.

The best sources are the Shamus and Malcb threads. A little knowledge is dangerous but my little knowledge has actually helped a lot.

Some of it is counter intuitive ie strength comes in on falling candles and weakness on positive candles but am not going to go into detail. Some of it just makes common sense. Its definitely worth the effort to get some knowledge.

Hi all these are my trades for the day sorry I can't post realtime I'm staying away from forexfactory during my trading times because I always end up on the cable update thread and find it hard to stick to my views when reading so many others.
Like jag1966 I am also taking targets from the hourly chart for trades after LO so I can get a big part of the days move. I didn't take as many as I could on my second trade as I scaled out making my gains less and should have really added in on the 100% system trade.
The two trades I did today were not 100% system but both had good PA and most importantly LHs of goos areas for me.
What do you think V and all?
Also I won't try to do the range bars its took me 4 months to get the hang of this! so I will just confuse myself. Are you already taking trades on range bars V?

Forgot to say I'd like it if anyone noticed something I have not in these charts that they think would have been usefull for me to have noticed please comment.

I'd just like to differentiate between lh/hl at an extreme which is a 'system' trade ie trade 1 on 1st post and 100% system trade which follows 1hr/15 min ie trade 2. Your trades were both valid trades as far as I'm concerned.

Your 1st lh short at 5700 is system, lh at extreme and a key level. Nice one.

Your 2nd lh follows a solid neg close on 15 min, at the prev high, nothing wrong with that. As the move up had failed you did a great job in holding that 2nd sell on the run down for most of days range.

Very very nice. This is great trading, you should be very happy with this.

Overall we had a good day actually but we did miss some trades watching the range bars seeing how they play out live. So nice really but I'm still not happy, hard to please it seems. We were focusing mainly on ej. We are actually looking to take entry from 7RB but using exactly the same basis for set ups as laid out here. So not there yet to jump into 7RB entries boots and all.

I had a great day too and it has been really nice seeing and reading everyones posts and progress here. I really feel I am learning loads, so thanks for all your hard work here Dave and everyone else that is contributing here.

Sorry I always forget there system aswell just no hour. and cheers hopefully I can keep it up. But am still always going to lock in profits as its august. Over the last couple of weeks I've found I find it easier to sit in a trade until target then try to exit and get back in and also like the risk reward with your LH/HL entrys on the 5min and hr1 targets sometimes you have 5 or 6 to 1 RR which I think is great.
I have lowered my stake though becasue I find it hard not to take a profit when I have alot on I'm more relaxed with less and concentrate more on the chart then money and will just work my way up from here.
