Thanks Steve. Appreciate all your help in this project. I have been wanting simpler EAs so we will test and then add them to the program.

OK, you have adjusted the original code...

But, why is used the period 2 for Var2 ???

I think that to apply the Huggie Rule is not so easy...
Please test if a stochastic digital indicator (period 3) can be helpfull:

The huggie rule is kind of after the fact. I love Swingman's indicators, they are one of a kind. Now I have to figure out what it is, other than the BB pinching before a big move I have not seen any other reliable predictor of a BB run but I am open to suggestions. Otherwise I will just continue to counter trade my way out.

I am trying to locate your previous post regarding entering buy and sell prices from the top left thumb of the 6th indicator into the EA but can't find it. Anyway I assumed that the final version has all the necessary instructions needed to succesfully run the EAs. I tried experimenting the EA Friday, but no trades were entered. That made me anxious whether all the programs and folders were copies correctly in their proper respecive folders. Just like the templates there's one inside the experts and another one outside of it within the mt4 - I copied them inside the template on the experts folder. Please correct me if I am wrong. Any way what concern me most at this stage is more on the BB/6th indicators/sto and associated trade set-ups. Having a good backrgound on the concept I can still enter my trades manually. I am currently having a mentorship that begun 6 months ago based mostly on fundamentals and I am totally deficient on TA. Again thank you for sharing us your knowledge and expertise on the subject.

The indicator has the parameter "BandsPeriod=12",
but the EA use a period 8. "iBands(NULL, PERIOD_H4, 8, 2, 0, PRICE_HIGH, MODE_LOWER, 0)"

What period do you recommend to use?

It might depend on which of us is looking at the latest version. I think it is me, but I wouldn't bet the overdraft on it.

Bob, if Swingman and me are unsure, then the new and confused have no chance. When you have time, it will be worth putting the updated ea versions into the V5 zip, so everybody knows which is which and everything people need is in one place.

Besides, all V.x versions do is clutter up your hard drive - that's why I never use them.

I use bid for entrances on #1, MA cross with BB for #2, and a combo of both for #3:

There will be a time when all will be in one folder. Because I pressed some I know mistakes would be made. I try to test and make sure everything is working when I post but it just never seems to work out that way. I actually have 6 EAs for different reads on the BB bands but I only posted 3 so far. Two of them needed adjusted almost right out of the box but #1 and #2 EAs are set and shouldnt need any updates. #3 is valuable for now and I am experimenting with upgrades but so far nothing new. #4 is a combo of 3 and 1 so no matter which way price goes it will enter for you. The GBP/JPY was an example where i played the #3 but if I had the #1 I would have gained an extra 50 pips. So I am writing and testing an EA that will do either trade. SO if price goes to the BB it will enter and if it does not and reverses direction it will enter. Making sure it works as planned before I post it. I figure if I confuse the heck out of everyone then we will all make money and the brokers wont know what is going on. LOL

Throw out NB bulge indicator and #3 5.0 I am using 5.1 #3 based on the high/low of a MA instead of a BB. More consistent.

Hey bob, steve just mentioned about files being all over the place i'm wondering currently what would be the files that would be needed.

And what i'm seeing now is 3 seniors discussing the coding of the EA.
I'm sorry i cant really read the codes but is there any big differences with the usage of the different coding EAs metioned.

Once again, pardon me bob i know i've been asking lots of catching up questions

One of the problems of programming BB EAs is the BB used is not always the same. There are two kinds; the MR. Bollinger BB and the MT4 BB. They are not the same. When you try some of the weird stuff I have tried you find out the EA will enter somewhere else than the lines on the screen. I think it is because the BB code used by MT4 is different than the MR. Bollinger BB so they dont have to pay him royalties. You will see the BANDS indicator in the custom section and the original in the indicator section. I have seen that EAs dont enter at the same line at times at the MR. BOLLINGER lines when you get away from the standard settings. That is why I threw out the NB lines. I couldnt get the EA to trade the same as the BB lines being drawn. I finally gave up and tossed it. Maybe some day I will go back and see if I can match them but not now.

I had to make some changes because I was simplifying obsolete versions.

I think I have simplified the correct ones now.

For a similar EA with BBs I have tested previous week the same problem!
I believe that the calculations are correct, but the problem is the dynamic drawing of the BB lines and trading signals can appear and disappear on the same bar.

My solution at the time is to use instead the close price the median price. Is not perfect, but the BB lines are more stabler as with closes.
