I've been wondering why the market was bullish USD after FOMC minutes last week and yesterdays Bernanke's testimony. We didn't even get the occasional whipsaws for the stops yesterday, EUR/USD shot straight south.

By the way, I want to remind you guys that California and a couple of other states have really troubled balance sheets. I don't remember the links of the articles, but if you google it I'm sure you'll find the articles.

Tomorrow are the EU stress test results, I'm looking forward to the markets reaction.

I'm enjoying the youtube clips that have been posted here recently.Thanks for that.

If only revival of the honourable , saving , blood, sweat and tears, bricks and mortar gentlemen. Is so sad see so much white collar , sting ops people, cheating the old generation of their savings. Spending what they not earned, and spending what others had saved all their lives, to satisfy a craving for even distribution of wealth. Didn't they learn anything from communism? Those that work hard and are honourable and upright, should be rewarded. Those that refuse to toll and those that deceive, should rot, that they learn that it is honourable and right to toll and be productive. Golden spoons only makes bad teeth.

Deception of the mind. Only if one can distinguish true productivity from con, can real wealth be produced and saved. And let not the savings be stolen in non durable deceptive stores of value. Derivative fiats, the ultimate deception of mind and real value. Paper value means nothing. Is only gaming.

But truly is sad see whole generations brought up with only consuming mentality. Consumption must be balanced with productivity.

even sader when productivity cannot balance consumption, then cheating becomes the norm, a means to an end.
and to see that which had been saved squandered away by legislation and lobbys, directing bad management of precious resources. Dilution of debts' value is cheating.

But they dont know what is the real freedom. They are slaves of themselves. We are gonna kick their backs.
But first we have to be champions in our disciplines...

Hey Tex, I sadly agree with you. Me and MyTbo live in a what used to be a communist country. Now transformed to a EU member. Used to be a rottening corpse, still a rotenning corpse, only now in a versache suit. We have the same people as before (no necessarily the same individuals, but definitely the same type of people) only more polished and greedy. People don't like to learn from mistakes (you will rarely hear a politician say he/she was wrong, compliments for Alan Greenspan here for what he said on his hearing). People like to HAVE. Money, power, you name it, they want it.

when i ride on my bike to work i pass many trucks from PL. BG. RO. HG. SL. and certainly CZ, east european numberplates ... and also i see these numberplates where the are people working on houses, cleaning or agriculture..... they exchange the earned euro's for their own currencies and go home....
iam certainly bullish on eastern europe an turkey....

hi J-Pax, yes, but their owners are mostly comunists from the past... And the system and laws are directly built for them... And normal people just stare and stare and work and...
Here, you are good, when you go to work for some firm and earn as less as possible. But when you want to do your bussiness, you are down before you just start. Here nobody fight for ideas, visions, better life... Sad nations.

Hello Fti. You are right, theres no Iron curtain any more. But it is inside of the people. That peoples schema "Not to do anything - only trying to get ahead of each other", fear from the byrocracy and finaly, the tops and firm-owners are sons of comunist. (in 1990ct.. there were The Privatization-firms were given to people... guess to what people...). Crowds were celebrating "freedom" and comunist quickly gamble posession, firma... billions... And the system is built to sustain them there and when you want to do business... It is not question of your abilities, but if you have friend between those post-communist... Or give them even milions into their pocket...
People dont believe in freedom, they dont know what to do with it. They go to work blindly everyday, not because they want, but because they MUST. And when somebody try bussiness, ten hungry flyes at his plate before he starts... Sory to say that, but this is real, not what you read in the news. But this doesnt mean economical weakness. Those sheep will be still blindly working for post-comunist. Welcome to the central Europe:-).
- Just imagine, that boys like me could get free milions for bussiness, free firms "take it". In the 1990cts... And they now laughing on us from their expensive cars and houses. Fana, your map is not correct. Geographically You nave to include East Germany too.. The problem is in education and mentality. Need few generations to bypass the old SOC-COM system..

Privatization, and mass manipulation, LOL.. Im I am missing something.. Just look what is going on today in USA with all that Media washing. If you are Right, then your map has to expand Globally..

The only 2 countries which paid too much attention on the future and invest in educations are India and China.. so.. Whole western civilization failed to plan and project the Future.. many generations are lost..

The third country is Russia. They realized and learned from history that no one Empire will exist if they fail to store and produce Energy [plenty of examples].. there you go again, EUROPE failed to secure any energy source, and as Japan, is going to become 100% energy importer..

In other words, Europe need to open much more to Asia, and improve connections with Russia, otherwise on long run the whole EURO project will FAIL..
The weakest and most important links are People and Energy .. and there THEY fail to project the Future...
