Tool to disconnect metatrader to test whether it reconnects properly?

Is there a tool that I can use to disconnect metatrader to test whether it automatically reconnects properly?

I'd just unplug the Ethernet cable, personally.

I do not want to disconnect the internet, I just want to simulate a disconnection between mt4 and the broker server.

Unplugging your ethernet will do exactly that, how does your broker or MT4 know it is the cable? It just knows it is disconnected and will try to reconnect.

Well, I can't do that if I am using a VPS.

I need a software or tool that I can use to create a disconnection between a program and a server.

Some sort of disconnect tool that network engineers or hackers use I suppose.

Install a firewall and block the Mt4 app

I still can't find anything specific on Google. That's the whole reason why I posted my request on this forum.

I am sure this topic has been brought up before, if only someone can point me to it.

If mt4 is disconnected then how is it suppose to send the email anyways?

The best you could do is an email when it connects maybe.

It sends email through my SMTP server.

That means when it is disconnected, it is disconnected from my broker server. It can still send an email notifying me about the disconnection.

Does anyone have any experience with setting up Email Alerts for MT4 disconnect?
