Nice post, i am new here also, been trading for 19 months and am finally seeing the light! seems like there's a lot of very knowledgeble people here and i'm looking forward to learning and contributing if i can.

I would say one one the big reasons retail traders are on the wrong side of the market, is because most have not been trading long and have yet to learn the real truths of trading. most give up before they have a chance.

getting into late is a big killer-If you ever say to yourself, "dam why did i not get in earlier" then its already to late.

So often new traders have the abillity to anticiapate the move before it happens, but they do not have the confidence to get in. by the time they do enter, what will normally be a small position they are buying or selling right ito the middle of the pro's who a exiting much bigger positions who are only wondering what to do for the rest of the day.

Its the same reason you all want a flashy car, an i phone, and a women with the looks of a super model for a wife (uh...well most of you~)...

You're being manipulated... Plain and simple, your emotions are used against you everytime you look at a chart. "They" know what you're thinking, but do you know what "they're" thinking?

Theres a right time to trade (the way most of us do) and a wrong time...

Most people simply trade at the wrong time for what they're trying to achieve and can't see the difference.

Fear of missing an opportunity is as strong a force as fearing a loss, and also as losing a paper gain. Its all fear -

If you can forget about the money for 1 second and take a step outside the battle field you may start to see how the robot army slaughters the pee shooter soldiers day in day out, but it takes time

If you continually fight the war gathering wounds and scratchers until you slowly bleed to death, you're gonna keep running back in to the battle with vengence in your heart, and will never see why you're getting picked off everytime, cause all you want is redemption for your fallen comrads

A blue whale wants to head south for the winter - The little parasite fish want to do the same so they all jump on his back, and buckle up for the ride... You think the whale doesn't know they're there?

The Blue whale kicks and breaches until they fall off and away he goes, along the way some sucker fish latch on, hoping to also head south for the winter.... You know the rest

I remember reading recently someone saying that every move up or down in the market is just someones position getting liquidated... Think about it

What is gained from the blue whale kicking and breaching? Aside from the obvious... What is lost?

Perhaps if you disagree with me you can offer your own opinion, anyhow to the original poster...

IMO There are very few people you should listen to on FF. Try and retain an open mind when listening to answers cause from my own experience here I know that 99% people/posts are full of shit, and a high % of these don't even know it. Blind leading the blind 24/7. Hey I could be one myself! When I left this place for a prolonged period it did wonders for my trading and I think its time to do the same again

I had been refraining fro entring any sort of meaningful discussion up until this point and the previous posters have reminded why

So good luck to you on your quest and don't limit yourself to what a bunch of monkeys tell you, you need to find your own answers

Davidee, I apologize for my part in side tracking this thread. You started a serious thread about a serious subject, and I hope it gets back on track. I know every body is entitled to there opinion but with in two pages Scotty B starts woffling on about something that only four people understand, and I think two of them only pretend to understand. I also think there are a lot more people making money from silly charts than there are from what ever Scotty is on about, and then Cindyxxxx starts talking about, thinking charts, battle fields and fish.

Soon we will have that other crowd over here talking about some 400yr old Japanese warrior. People try and stay on subject.

Open your mind FOUR KIDS you complain about what we're talking about, but what are YOU talking about. I don't hear anything but complaining. Perhaps if you gave it a second of thought you could see where Scotty or myself are coming from.

At least I can say we have had a go at answering the thread question. Theres no right answers here, people see the market differently, and thus people will have different understandings as to why or why not things happen. Further this translates into the many many different ways of attempting to trade the market... It all relative and perhaps key.

Just cause someones ideas dont fit with yours does it mean its wrong?
