Agreed, a fantastic morning for your reversal method Vantage, I got my daily quota on cable and stopped. My mate was more adventurous he shorted CAD, and went long AUD as well.

This method would lend it's self well to a live trading room environment, quite a bit of fun I should imagine.

Wicked stuff, I hope you got your computer sorted.

P.S. You may just have some malware, do a search for malwarebytes, it's free and it will get rid of almost any rubbish you may have picked up on your PC.

Sorry for the confusion.
What I meant was, what level (psych/pivot...) made you take the trade. We had yesterdays high and res. at 529x above.

General question:
Are there 100% system trades without involvement of key levels (pivots/daily H/L/O or psych level) possible, if the rest - H1/M15 behaves in line?

Or does there always have to be a reaction to a key level involved?

We didn't take the gu trade, we were watching and I liked it (gu) but we had ej up as we also liked that. Apologies if my post suggested otherwise but I was sure I said we missed the gu trade for the ej set up.

Generally I do not care what psych level/high/res level is coming PROVIDED the set up is right approaching it I'll take the trade. I would have taken the GU trade at 88 if we were not set up on ej.

The reasons why I'll take a trade and that one specifically. A weak bounce from a key level is an indication that it may well fail. The rationale being if the big boys were going to defend you'd see vol and a bigger reaction. I don't know how long trading time it took me to learn this lesson but its served me well. A weak bounce from a key level is an indication it may fail.

On the move you mention Y's high was 96-ish but price was struggling at M3 5281. The first bounce lower was to 5250 after that bounces were to 65 and then 75. Thats a vital clue. See the chart with the arrows up showing the weaker bounces = the higher lows.

When the right circumstances per system develop ie in line with 1hr, 15 min, 5 min hl with set up candles little/no upper wick for a buy take it and don't worry what the res level is. Those circumstances above = high prob trade.

Shout if above is not clear.

Reason for the trade was the 2 hammers on 15 min with increased vol suggested buyers were coming in. The move below the RN, DO and S1 rejecting. Nice 5 min hl at extreme with little/no upper wick on set up 5 min candle.

We got a microsoft warning that internet explorer has stopped working and we were at W M3 so we exited with +26.

Yes there are trades wheres theres no key level, but the are prob few and far apart (when you have as many lines on your charts as I do).

Hi Vantage,

Thanks for that. Hope to have this ingrained at some stage too.

I attach a chart with some remarks from GU today. This is what I'm really struggling with.

15min before LO we had a series of LHs and LLs (magenta circles). We even had a short setup (candle with the arrow - not a good one because of lower wick but it was one) and when the candle closed we had a lower high (magenta circle).

One candle later the SAME candle turned into a HL too (1st green circle), that was confirmed one candle later, when it took out the high (yellow).

The next two highs were LHs too (magenta) compared to pre open London.
But we had two HLs too (green circles 2 and 3).

This is basically a triangle consolidation.

The question is:

Do you trade/see the first HL (1st green circle) independent of the series of preceeding LHs/LLs?

With hindsight this was THE setup for today. The start of the daily trend.

Hi Vanatge I did the 7.20 candle trade today got +10 out quickly becuase of the key area (support on the hour and bottom of a channel).
I have had a good week I did two trades yesterday got BE on one and +2 on the other because I ran the trade poorly and got out way to early I will post them later to see how woull have ran the trade if that OK?

The right arrow down on the chart is a trade I am papering at the moment becasue I am never sure about these it had a 15min SS and a LH on the 5min but no hour candle. I am not sure if it is at enough of an extreme but like you say between FO and an hour into LO 50pips is a good run how do you judge the extreme between those times and what are your thoughts on this particular trade?

The first hl going against the trend, if its at an extreme, at a key level with a good 15 reversal candle would we trade it. If its in line with daily trend even better. Absolutely its trade 1 in 1st post.

If you miss it you just hope it gives you another chance and doesn't run away from you like gu did this morning (which we missed the double bottom).

We looked at and rejected as the 15 min candle had a decent upper wick but closed well above its middle so could not be considered a proper SS so we left as too iffy.

A proper SS followed on 15 min and then a pos close inside bar so still nothing definite enough. Vol also falling away adding to the confusion ie if we're going to fall somewhere sellers must add to vol? Wish my vsa skills were better.

Having missed moves on both gu and ej no trades for me yet this am.

sorry in advance if I sound like I'm questioning you or your system I'm definitely not. I am a bit confused about the upper arrow trade I think you metioned you missed it earlier if you didn't sorry. What were your reasons for this trade? there were three bearish hourly closes before this trade and a 15min with a bit of a wick but did close in its lower half this would have put me off longs. Were there other reasons for you doing a long here like time,volume,area ect?

You might have asked why not sell earlier. Well up until then it was sells as I recall. A prior lh had too big a candle to consider. The final lh close had a bit of a lower wick and price never went lower than the set up candle, so no trade.

Then that failure resulted in the first hl and a poss reversal. Once that happens if you wanted to sell you'd need the whole lh cycle to turn around from the last formed hl. That is a move up, reject and lh's form.

I'm a little in dog box missing this one. See arrow down. At extreme of session, 2 x 15 min SS's, then a 15 min inside on lower vol, so buyers backed off. This 5 min lh took 15 min candle low out ie a trade. I was posting and didn't recognise the 15 min low vol inside bar quickly enough.

See x down. Marginal one but we took it. 1hr had lower wick which gave some concern. 15 min solid no wick lower close, 3 x 5 min SS's and lh. We sold at 15 (yes 15 level can be tricky), eur started shooting up so with the 1hr lower wick and eur not agreeing we exited at 0.00001 (ie stop moved).

Another 2000 trades like that and we're good for the day.

Sorry Vantage I never posted a chart with the trade I meant the double bottom today that it think you mentioned you missed it in your post earlier today. this was double bottom I think you mentioned.
