Jefftrader, there has been so much accumulation on the US/JPY, I would be careful shorting it at this point.

Yes I agree-- I am very bullish UYEN on a daily (UYEN ended the day on a semi bullish triangle) last week was buying on NFP and prior was the end of daily wave down with heavy V.
- at the time I was making my trading we had 30m divergence and 5 small waves upwards so a 75 pip retrace was on the table. I took my shorts on EU/GU/GY and Longs on UCAD. I kept my shorts on GU and longs on UCAD and UCHF-- and closed shorts on GY and EU.

When trading crosses I like both boats in the same direction or one trending and one ranging. a breakout upwards on UY and falling GU would give me pause on entering either direction of GY.

Now, that I'm back at Fort Living Room I can make some decent charts again.

What do you feel comfortable trading with in terms of percentage of funds? And what leverage do you employ? If you don't mind me asking.

Balan has some good MM techniques for EW- maybe too aggressive for forex??

Long term holdings I risk .5% that's with a 300 pip SL/hedge
Short term scalping 2-5% risk with either SL/hedging- depends on how many pips to the top/bottom of wav1

I only trade part time so I'm bound by more limitations than a full time trader- I have been accused of both under-trading and over-trading.

The little history in mt4 says I'm up ~25% for the month of July- kind of surprised seeing how I wasn't paying much attention last week and spent most of it on the beach.

I using hedging as well - not martingale style - but usually 1:1 or 50%. unless my count is totally off - (and it has been - then I automatically reverse- and have used a 1:3/3:1 hedge)

I'm comfortable with 5-10% total acct DD -- 100 pips is only a penny in the real world - something I try to keep in perspective when trading.

i am going to PM you when i get back, MY proprietary system. It has NEVER failed once in 09 or 10. Only time I lose is when I get bored and try some other system or setup.

i have had two winners because of what you have steered me toward. going out, will get to you when I get back.
