Based on your strategy, yes there will be that one floating loss. But the martingale component only happens after a closed loss. That is to say, you don't increase your lot size until you've had a loss.
Hanover and I have years of experience at least experimenting with these markets. I can't speak directly of Hanover's experience, but I'm almost certain he has tried this sort of method as I have, and failed. Based on my experience, martingale works best in a market where no black swans exist. Find a market where that happens, and yes, Martingale becomes safe.
