Tradeing software/programs

I am looking for a program which I can use to implement My tradeing plans.
So many possible trades happen at times of the day and night when I am not at my computer, stareing at the screen.

I don't know if anything like this exists for the "micro" traders budget.

Here is what I am thinking. A program which would initiate an audible alarm from my computer. Example: I am useing the 5,20 and 50 EMA, so when the 5 EMA crosses over the 20EMA or 50EMA it initiates the alarm, which would alert me of a possible trade. Also if this program could be set up so that you are looking for a specific difference between the EMA's. 10 pips between the 5 and 50, and 20 pips between 5 and 20 , before it would alarm (this would eliminate nuisance alarms in a floating market) . 15 min 1hour and daily charts

Am I dreaming of something way out of my league or what????

However, right now, I'm looking into Metatrader... I also plan to learn to program using such platform.. But again, it's still in plans..

as far as my plans go, this is critical if i am going to make forex work. or else i have to trade longer trends. However you are always getting charged interest ETC when ever you leave a trade open.


anyone out there to answer the question??

If there is nothing of the sort available I have 4 programming friends who could help me out and I might make such a product available (read opportunist )

Metatrader is a trading platform wherein you can program your own indicators (I still haven't looked too much into it's capabilities though...), but I'm not sure if you can program alarms.. But I have a hinch that it can...

I am sure you could write something like that in VT Trader quite simply. Down load it for free at at CMSFX.com and read the docs for trading sytems. You could even have it auto trade for you although personally I wouldn't.

absolutely not.

there is a program called TradeStation that will do anything you desire. you can have it yell "wake up you bastard" when the price crosses the 50MA while the ADX is rising over 23 and its between 3 and 4am. you can even have it execute the trade for you automatically. whatever you want man, it can do it. however, as with all things worthwhile, it will take you some time to learn.

yes this is possible and quite simple on almost all decent platforms including tradestation, metatrader, intellichart, visualtrader, etc. In fact if you glance at intellichart manual you'll find examples very similar to your idea...

Thanks all who responded. I will check out some of these platforms. I like merlins Idea of a computer that shouts "Wake up you bastard" . Thats more of what i'm used to and i would respond in kind!

Metatrader is free download and have tons of features for technical analysis. U can also create your own indicators and expert advisor in them.

I downloaded vt trader and it didn't work (corrupted download???) then I downloaded metatrader and it does look very promiseing. I am reading through the help file on the program, and it looks like the expert advisor feature may be able to do what I am requesting. I will hack away at the information and see what I can create.does that demo account and metatrader program remain free for an extended period?
